Yup. Wedge your hand in there and push. And Yes it takes a bit of force.
Yeah, open the hood and reach in behind and push it out, it will eventually pop out of the gromet that holds it.
But be careful, I've cut my finger tip on the metal that holds the gromet.

got em off and did this with em:

used krylon fusion plastic spray paint...did one coat....bit too glossy for me...hit it with a second and gave it a decent matte finish

Diggin' the blacked out side grills! Been thinking about doing this myself but I want to keep the red S. Probably end up getting one from Aesthetic Creations.
just mask off the s with painters tape and trim to the edge with an xacto. Makes sanding tough but if you use a dremel and a flat wire brush and are very careful. no problemo.
VV That's low gloss engine creamic paint, the fusion was first but didn't match the jet black so I just did a different black that wouldn't look like I tired and failed to match. (it does match the plastic wheel arch trim perfectly though) The chrome on the side vents is hard and doesn't take to prepping well. I had a couple paints -even the fusion- flake in the pressure wash.

Has anyone had any luck with hitting the chrome with a 120 grit wet sand, self etching primer & then paint? Or try a adhesion promoter? I'm gonna tackle this one soon & I'd like to do it as well as I can.
I did disassemble and leave the S in place but otherwise I just painted without sanding or other prep. I also masked the red of the S so that I have black with the red S in the middle.

It will look even better when you put the middle grill on. Did you think the fusion paint worked well? This weekend I had some of the dash appart and I decided to try to paint the cup holder rings black. I just cleaned when with soap and water, dried them, kept my fingers off them and then when I went to paint them the paint just looked bad. It would go on in a nice thin cover but then some areas would pool up and leave some areas unpainted. It was strange.
I want to know the proper and best way to prep the plastic pieces on the car. The side repeater, dash parts, etc..

The fusion kind. It was strange. I painted other things with it before. Maybe I need to primer the parts first. But then does it really matter if I use plastic paint or just regular paint? I dont think it should.
