Giving a heads up that, due to popular demand, a precut side reflector smoke-out kit is now available. Only $14.95 too! Get 'em from RSpeed at: Side Reflector Smoke-out Kit
Personally, I think it makes the car look much smoother and easy as pie to install.
Here are a couple of pics from RSpeed:

But to each his/her own!

First, the mod isn't really useless when you are trying make a car look smoother/cleaner. No more useless than a fancy gas cap.

Secondly, The film allows 65% of light passage. It is my understanding that they don't light up, but are just reflectors. Also, the film is adhesive backed and is very strong. The film will not come off unless you make a concerted effort to remove it by hand. Even pressure washing won't remove it.

I have the Madness tints on my side reflector/lights. Yes, they do light up, but with the tint the whole doesn't illuminate any longer, only exactly where the bulb is. For example, here's a picture with the fronts tinted, notice how there is only a light "spot" on the top now? I love it. Stealthy.

Here's an idea.
You could buy the film and apply only a portion to get a smaller reflector look or if you didn't like it then remove it.
No harm to try being creative for $15?

Cool, I'm going to place my order right now too. I'm thinking of going the same way as Davbret (if you don't mind). I also like to keep the rear red side reflectors. I like them alot for some odd reason. Not bad for 15 bucks.

So Davbret.... you mind me adapting that style you got there?

by the way, Lamin-x, are you working at RSpeed? If so, just a suggestion on your website. It would be nice to know what's new, everything looks the same and I visit the site everyonce in a while. Maybe a "NEW" image next to each new item. That would help me find it easier shopping on your site.

jivanivan no we are not affiliated with RSpeed. We are looking for good, reputable distribution networks and heard and now experienced great things about RSpeed. We are very comfortable and happy with the business relationship with them.

BTW great idea for our website. We'll look into implenting that and devote it to you

EliteCooperS - it should look killer on painted wheel arches. You have a black roof, tailights, etc... It'll sync perfectly

Are these really $14.95? I went to the RSpeed website are they were listed at $24.95. Then how much is their UPS shipping? Or do they ship them via the cheaper U.S Postal Service?

Amazing.
We buy their product and promote them to all the other MINI owners.

How do they thank us.....?

By raising the price.

I was interestred, but I will avoid them now.
I will go another way.
Thanks!

i guess you have to pay a premium for something as simple as cutting
small pieces of tint to the correct size.
serves us right for being so lazy!
i bought my tailight-tint from lamin-x, i couldn't hate on the price!
