Yes, one screw. Remove said screw and there is a tab on the other side. Easy as pie!

You wanna get rid of that r53 cap and surround? I have an r50 and would consider a swap. What color is your car?

Should I assume that your car is an R53 with a stock chrome cap and black surround? If so, yes, I'd like to do a swap for my cooper body colored door.

sounds good. but i've heard even the gas caps have changed from 03 (my car) to the 05 (your car). i read a previous thread that something had to be trimmed off... i don't think it was a major problem.

btw how'd you want to do this? neither of us can be running around sans a gas cap for a week or two haah.

it is this entire assembly
have you removed the assembly before? any insight or a how-to? thanks!

As far as running around capless , neither the S or Cooper gas cap covers are actually gas caps. Mine is a body colored round plate and yours is a chrome bezel and black surround. My car has an actual gas cap under the cover. Does yours?

I'd like to know about this trimming business, just know what I'm getting before I get it, and how involved it is. Anyone know where this thread is or how to find it?
