BFP (Benfer) CF Scoop and ImagoX Silver Grill

So I installed the BFP Scoop I bought off a NAMer. It wasn't exactly what I was expecting. Despite a broken tab that wasn't specified in the original sale--it's still nicely formed--but the flat look doesn't really match well with my JCW CF mirror caps which are glossy.

I also installed ImagoX's grill at the same time. After seeing these pix, I will probably paint the grill black.

For those with discerning eyes--yes, one of my Xenon washer jet covers is missing, and yes my trim rings around the lights aren't fitting properly--lots of stuff are work in progress--preparing for the bonnet to be repainted in a few weeks....

what wheels are those?

any side profile full car pics?

that sucks about the scoop but a shot of clear should fix it.

for the most part, the car looks good!

Edgeracing Flik Bullets--discontinued. As typical of their cheap wheels, the paint has begun to peel off--so I will be repainting those as well.

They looked like this new (1 year ago):

I plan to make them like this:

(without the red door handles--was just an idea to see how it would look)

Hmmmm...grille definitely needs to be painted I think. Not sure I'm liking the Benfer scoop. Seems out of place on the car or something. I like the look you're going for though.

Yeah I think the grill needs to be black like the aero grills. The scoop is likely going back to the Marketplace. It stands out a lot more than I had hoped and it's not one part I really need to call attention to.

The BFP scoop just deteriorated due to UV exposure. They started out gloss like the JCW scoop but lose it due to the UV exposure. I replaced my BFP scoop with a JCW for that very reason.

Are you sure about that? Maxmini says they are made using a technique that isn't clearcoated--it's done to keep it lightweight. My scoop doesn't look deteriorated at all, unless you're saying the gloss is just a UV coating as opposed to a paint, that wears away.

I believe bfp never made a scoop thats not clear coated... (aka glossy)
and that was the answer from BFP themselves. (via email like 2 years back, before they went out of business..)

The carbon itself didn't deteriorate, it was the "clear" or UV coating whatever you would like to call it. I bought mine in 2004, so maybe they started making "matte" ones because of the issue. (I know Clay Carrier Composites was their manufacturing source, and the rear CF hugger he made for my Ducati has a clear on it also.)

Well mine is shiny--but it's not like the JCW CF mirror caps that is thick(I make the comparison instead of the JCW scoop because that's what I have). Much like matte paint that is also cleared but isn't glossy, it's possible mine is cleared--it does reflect light when I photograph it, but the fibers can be felt when touching it, so it's not sealed under many layers of clear.
