Aero Grill & Painted Scoop

I finally have my Aero grill complete and also installed a flat black painted hood scoop.

That along with replacing my oil sending unit made for a good Mod day. I want to thank MiniStupidFun and ThDuke.

I was going to bust MSF chops but he did a pristine job cutting and installing the lower grill something I have been putting off for months.

VERY nice look, although I am partial to the blackout look.

Yep, it's flat black. In fact, at one point I considered black stock bonnet stripes too, got one mounted, and realized that they were going to be a mismatch with the scoop and grill inserts due to the gloss. Now I'm glad there's nothing on the bonnet competing with the scoop (other than an occasional paint chip ).

New updates:

Well MSF stopped over and we did the belt line and headlight rings. I did the side markers last week so I have the door handles and gas cap left.

Jeff, sent you a PM and ill post here too. I bought an aero grill at nyc mini but the could only install the upper half. They insisted i had to buy the aero kit to put on the bottom one, which is 3600 bucks lol. I know someone can do this and I see you have. Any suggestions on where I could have this done? Here is a pic of the grill with the upper installed but the lower still in chrome. I am in NYC and would go anywhere in the tri state

Thanks

i dont know if youre good at working with tools but removing the lower grill is rather easy (if you know what youre doing) theres a few write ups with step-by-step instructions on how to replace the lower grill, its about a 1-2 hour job, perfect for that saturday afternoon!

Not sure...mine was done by a body shop and I don't know what they used. It's also more of a satin, vice flat, finish.

I used the Krylon flat black paint for plastics along with Krylon primer for plastics, i did my hood scoop along with the side repeaters over 4 months ago and its holding up well with the AZ heat!
I applied several layers of primer after sanding the scoop down completely and then applied 3 layers of flat black paint.......no chips at all!
