Another Home Depot mod

First it was the Home Depot rain gutter grill mod for the hood scoop. And now here's the latest: http://forums.mwerks.com/zerothread?id=3578071

Not sure if it'll work with the MINI. Besides, there's a perfectly good air dam a few inches back from the bumper. But a good idea nonetheless.

Good ol' Home Depot. With their gutter guard grill mesh, and roof flashing Dynamat, theyre in the car business and don't even know it.

I think that I would try this. Maybe once I put my new bumper on I'll give it a shot. At least until I can afford a real one.

Yeah, but once they figure it out all this material will go up in price 1000%.

- the product is the rubber seal for the garage door. they come in different sizes. i used a 9 ft one enough to do two cars but figured i could is it on something else (will post soon)

- double sided tape..... a lot used and can be screwed down once satisfied.
- and apair of scissors to trim....

very easy to install

wow - nice job! i actually went to Home Depot a few days ago when I first saw the post - just ended up getting painters tape so i could continue on my quest to de-chrome the MCS. i want to do this, just haven't decided if it will look right on my AC Schnitzer bumper. If I do it, I'll post pix

does the trim come with its on adhesive backing or is it something you have to add yourself? and how much is the material? i could go to home depot and see for myself, but i really dont want to walk around for 3 hrs asking clueless employees like i typically do.

Can't you just ask where the automotive parts department is?

i think it costs around $10 bucks for the package shown in the picture. it does NOT include adhesive - so you have to buy 3m or similar double sided adhesive. if you click on the link in the first post and scroll half way down that forum - you'll find a small link for a how-to. it takes you to a SRT forum (yeah I know- bleh!!!!) but, the dodge dude put a really nice picture how to showing every step - including the addition of screws he added for additional security
