2005 Remove MFSW trim...

I need to take off my MFSW trim but I don't want to monkey with the airbag. Is this possible? I read in other posts that I now can not find that you can remove trim with the airbag still on.

Anybody know the answer?

Thank you in advance.

Blake

MSFW?

In any case (whatever that is), if you disconnect the negative battery terminal, I know that disables the airbag sensors. They reset when the battery is reconnected. This is what people do when they swap steering wheels, for instance. Does that help you at all?

Yes you can. I did it last night. As suggested, disconnect your battery so that you don't accidentally set off the air bag. Look on the back of the spokes and you will find 3 holes that have screws. Remove the screws (T20 bit I believe). The pieces will be loose. Now just wiggle them out. Since they have posts on the back, you kind of have to bend and wiggle them to get them out. I have heard getting them back in is the harder part. If you trim the posts it should be easier to wiggle them back in.

(Mine are in the mail to you today Blake, so you should have them Friday or Saturday)

But of course... It's a MINI - "prying, swearing and such" is a special Service Tool.
