Hahahah this thread is goofy......i'd put 5 bucks saying that the stripes on the blue car are a photoshop (or whatever program they're using). Just look at the wheelgap and size of the wheels.....clearly those were photoshopped on as well and clearly oversized. Or look at the angle/perspective of the rear wheel...it's all wrong. It's just a pic of the front wheel copy-pasted and scaled to fit the rear wheel. It's not uncommon for the graphic designer to add something like that after the fact.

Any vinyl sign shop could make them for you....it's just a wide piece of vinyl. You get to pick the spacing.

And, I'd ask again, why would you NOT want to go custom? Minis are all different, but bonnet stripes are one area where people tend to do the same things over and over again. I went custom and I got exactly what I wanted for less than half of what Mini wanted for it. Couldn't be happier.

I find it odd that no one has mentioned that that car is a drawing. Therefore, it's possible they don't exist. However, if you observe this pic, there are some out there. I got sport stripes on my car and they're definitely thinner. I believe that we both have the same stripes look at how far apart his are compared to mine. I like his better, but it's too late now.

It is clear that his are separated more than mine. I think they are sport stripes.

RallyMINI: the rear wheel is not a copy paste of the front wheel, but even if it was, and the car is a drawing, so what, who says if its a drawing it must be non existent?

On the other hand if it was a fault, then listento this... Ive already contacted mini USA and mini UK and none of them are saying that those stripes are a fault drawing. Mini USA says that they exist and that they are the "sport stripes" so i have to keep looking why and how.

And something else, what stripes is the Mini Challenge wearing, where can i get those? They are also wider than sport stripes but not as wide as the ones on my pic, placing them somewhere in the middle between the two!

You still never answered the question as to why you wouldn't go to a custom shop on this?

Typically it is cheaper and higher quality to go custom.

No doubt. Parallel, constant-width, single-colour stripes are about as Barney-simple as it gets.

Why anyone would search the globe for the MINI-branded version of these stripes, and probably get raped on the exchange rate and international shipping to boot, is beyond me.

Ok guys, its just that in my country you cant find a good custom stripe proffessional to do the job! Also i have no idea what those stripes look like in different angles, i only have one view of them! Maybe they are too wide when you see them face to face! I wanted to have a better look at them if i go custom, make sure... u know! Thats why i was looking for someone that would have them on, to get a better look!

Ahh! Now that makes sense. You know, it is not real hard to do stripes yourself which is what Scott was getting at and if you use the wet method, you can float them into place and adjust them pretty easily.

Guys... i have the official news regarding those stripes on that weird photo. Well after contacting again, with mini US, they did realize that i was talkign about wider stripes, so here is their reply:

"Dear bla bla bla
i apologize for my previous reply. The photo you are referencing is the Sport Stripes, however this photo is a digital rendition and not an actual photo. The Sport Stripes available for purchase will look like the stripes in the catalog and will not cover the full range of the hood scoop. I apologize for any disappointment this may cause."

And thats that, so some of you were right. Not only is this a digital photo but they also DID made a mistake. I just hope im not responsible if they fire the graphic designer that did this! Anyway thank you all for participating in this, that turned uo to be a wild goose chase Ill closing by asking for a moderator to please close down this thread
So until the next wild goose chase... may the "stripes" be with you everyone!
