Interior/Exterior Headlights
Nissan Silvia. It's an '01 S15 (chassis code like R53)
Look on HIDPlanet, and you will find a wealth of info on your setup. They're H1 halogen or the xenon version? The halogen version wont work for HID. Either way, good luck and keep us posted.

They're the xenon
I had the halogen lights stock but had a set of xenon lights in them. I still have my set with h7 HID bulbs but the new lights are H1. I would install mine xenon kit but don't have the money for the new bulbs and plus I am selling the car. The cutoff line even with the halogens are realy good. They are kind of a pain to level/adjust but worth it in the looks department imo.
i am considering putting these on my 06. will they still fit?
i have halogens now...is that okay? will they be a true xenon upgrade?
are all the ebay auctions the same for this product? do some come with a ballast or something?

You can buy those, tear them apart, and put in an HID projector though...

how do you know for sure if the projector lens is for halogen or xenon? my guess is they are halogen as well, and they just stick those cheap HID kits with them. I can't see why they just dont put a projector xenon lens in so that i can use my factory ballasts
Its the entire projector... the bowl and lens, that need to be for HID. Mostly the bowls. Thats what determines the brightness of the beam more so than the lenses.
The bowls are a specific focal length for certain bulbs. I know they use the same projectors for halogens and HID because it would be WAY too expensive for a cheap chinese company to make both types. Its the same manufacturer that makes them for civics, eclipses etc... and I have seen the results with HID kits in them... bad.

I've got these lights and just waiting to get some time to paint the outer rings black. The construction is good and not as cheap as I thought they'd be. As far as lighting, since I haven't hooked mine up yet I can't tell you. I will say this, they are not HID. They were never meant to be. They are just plain projector type housings. My wife's 2000 Celica came with the same type of housing...stock. The light output is awesome. I'm guessing the same results. Might be a paint tp align, but we will see.
ok dont want to jack the thread but does anyone have the link for the r53 joey mod how to? i have the lights off the car, the rings off, and the washer units out. but i cant figure out how to get all the shtuff out of the inside (xenon wires etc..)
Headlight Rings
If these are still available, I'd love to take these off your hands. Thanks!
Sorry... gone.
All I have left are two lenses and the rubber caps which fit over the 02-04 high beams and the 05+ xenon caps that snap on the back.
Its all going to the dumpster soon... The lenses might be a good find because I've heard that the aftermarket lenses fog after a little while.

Lets get some output shots.... I dont think I've seen any really good ones. Shoot the beam against a wall from 25' and 50-100'. Dont overexpose the shots, and we can see if the beam pattern is even.
like so...
