Interior/Exterior Carbon fiber gas door
Carbon fiber gas door
Does anyone know where to find a carbon fiber gas door for the MCS at a reasonable price? There's one I've seen available in the UK, but with our lousy currency exchange rate, $300 seems outrageous! Is there one available stateside, or is there a startup company considering taking up this design challenge? Seems like there would be quite a market for it.

$300 is quite a bit. If you're just looking for the CF look of it, you should just go buy a sheet of it, and some resin. It's a pretty easy process to wrap it. I'm going to do a bunch of pieces from my car like this. It's a lot cheaper too.
+1 - You're not going to save a significant amount of weight going with an all-CF piece, so there's no shame in going with CF overlays (or even one of the better faux-CF paint treatments.
As an example, all of the JCW CF parts are just a layer of CF over ABS plastic, so if anything, they probably weigh a little *more* than the stock pieces. (I still got almost all of them though - as far as "cosmetic" CF pieces go, they're some of the best-looking ones I've seen).

try these .2mm sheets...they match the MINI cf almost perfectly
