Wood belongs on a Bentley! J/K

I also would like to do my Tach ring in CF to match my JCW cf Shifter ring

That's what intrigues me the most about the vendor....you could get the dash, but the fact that they could do it on any of the interior silver pieces is really cool. "CF" downtubes and CF door bars would be really cool

With NASCAR doing whole vehicle vinyl wraps instead of paint, just how hard is it to vinyl wrap a dash with any conceivable graphic that you desire???

Not hard at all!!!!

true it wouldnt be difficult but if they're doing it using the same technique as the link rally provided i'd imagine alignment and positioning of the said graphics would be extremely difficult

I dont know about "not hard at all".....it's definitely do-able, but take a look at the complex curves of the dash underneath the speedometer. Wrapping a solid color vinyl would be hard enough.....then try doing it with a pattern or graphic without warping the image.....it's probably hard, but possible.

This stuff doesnt appear to be vinyl at all......looks like the hydrofilm stuff that i posted a few posts up which allows much less distortion to the pattern and makes complex curves much easier. It also appears to have a very heavy/thick clearcoat

http://www.skinzwraps.com Here is a link. I agree the complex curves may present a challenge. However, I also think a good computer program could compensate the graphic for those curves. The 3-D graphics look so cool.

Funny, i always thought our cars ARE little race cars!

Anyway yes, the fact that he is able to do these are parts in a CF look wrap is awesome! I already have the downtubes in leather and door bars in leather and considered doing the dash too, but i think the CF dash will complement eachother well

Thanks for all the kind words. Let me answer some of the questions that are asked in this thread, there are some good ones. If any of you have other questions that you need answered just PM me or ask them here. Yes, the site has limited pictures but we are adding more all the time.

Especially since they're advertising it as an affordable alternative to carbon fiber. Plus, you have to send the dash pieces in.
We have some dashes in stock so no, you don't have to wait for the exchange.

There will be pics of a black/black CF dash in the next few days.

Yup. We are working on samples of wood on MINI parts. I will post wood on sample parts on the site in the next few days.

Anyone know the process they're using? Looks a lot like the one that someone else posted where they're dipping the piece into a solution that has the design on the top.

EDIT: this is the place i was talking about: http://elegantwooddesign.com/index2.html

Same process as above, however I am a MINI owner so I am very familiar with the MINI.

RallyMINI- Nice sig! That's sweet.
Chris, if you feel that way you can come to IL and do a "carbon Fiber Fantasy camp."

I do dig the red CF....if I didn't have the JCW leather dash, I'd buy it
Nah, we were not asked to become vendors, we decided it was in our best interest to become vendors. I have had the screen name for a wile though.

Just about any color you can think of. If your car is liquid yellow you can have a yellow/black weave or a yellow/yellow weave. White/white looks killer, very subtle.

In the next few days I will have a dash in black/black on the site.

We have some dashes in stock so no, you don't have to wait for the exchange. If you want to do the core thing that is cool too, but the core is not cheap at all.

I have one that is drying right now. Pics to follow.

We are doing downtubes and door handles for a customer now. The parts have not gotten here yet but they will arrive soon. Pics to follow.

Here is the sample next to the JCW wing. As you can see the weave is a bit lager.

Here is the sample on the hood of an Astro Black MINI.

The sample in the picture is just a shape that shows off what the finishes can do. It is supposed to look like a car shape.

So does that CF dash Thanks for the pic.

So do you have the 5pc CF dash in stock ?

Also, me wonders how hard it is to install. My concern is removing the passenger side airbag and the piece just behind the tach (i have the Mini boost/volt gauge set, so it appears i have to remove those as well)

I don't have any 5 piece dashes in stock, mine are all 3 piece. The tach is not that bad to remove. The airbag piece is a challenge, so I hear.

Man, this stuff is just AWESOME!

Since this is a mod I can't "sneek" by my other half, I better start coming up with some justification...
