Here is the setup and the question:
First, I do not have any experience painting any Auto parts.

I can buy a primed hood scoop for around $80.00, that I would have to paint.
What type of paint would I need? Do I need a reducer? What is the best method to apply?

One step back, on my stock hood scoop; I have a clear bra piece that I would like to resuse on the new one. Can anyone recommend a how to remove step by step procedure and reaply to the new one?

Lots of questions, thanks in advance.
well... there are another solution for you, you don't have to match the color, you can paint the scoop in Black, shiny black ****if you ever decide to black out your car*****

****ooooppsyy**** i didn't look at the bottom ahhaha i see you've already done it

haha, what a coincidence! i have a chili red and JUST preformed the same mods you have (blacked out the hoodscoop and purchased the JCW grille surrounds) ...i'm still on the fence about the stripes. But good for you! it seems like the both of us like the JCW aesthetics...but can't afford carbon fiber! :-)

Shouldn't be any worries with that. I've even used automotive basecoat/clearcoat on engine blocks with no damage to the paint (House of Kolor polyurethane).

We showed quite a few new items this past weekend at AMVIV and here is a quick snap shot of our heat shild which will solve the " melting hood " issue. There is a liner underneath of our Aerogel product which will keep any execssive heat from reaching the underside of the hood .
