replacment hood scoop grill?

I have an earlier build R56 with a solid scoop grill, and have been looking for a replacment grill for it with no luck. Does anyone know where I could get either an aftermarket one, or even the later style OEM one (with the cut-outs). Or, if any of you took yours out to install a CAI I would be willing to buy it off you. Thanks in advance.

You could get parts from Home Depot and make this pretty easily...

I took mine out, and cut about 3/8" off the back side of it. Now it is completely open, yet still retains the stock look.

I installed the chrome one. Looks great and has the cutouts. My original did not. Purchased at my dealer.

pop the bonnet, remove the rubber plug (if you have one, i don't), remove platsic screw, close bonnet, pull up to remove scoop
flip over, remove 4 small phillips screws.
done.

I had some material left over from customcargills.com and modified mine... it's now black.

the ones with "cutouts" are hardly any different than being solid IMO... just a couple of the little holes are actually open...

Took mine out last week... no water doesnt get in or anything....even when I wash it.. Just dont spray directly into it lol

peep that thread or maybe even post number 4. That was mine...very easy, and WAY cheaper than buying from your dealer...different look, but EXTREMELY subtle if painted black...

i'm going to the dealer tomorrow for another problem and plan on getting a new one ordered. when i get it, the grill is gone, post haste. I wish I had taken the advice of the forums and ditched it a long time ago. My car is dark silver so I plan to paint the inner lip black and let it ride.
