Now now children, settle down!

Enough about insurance fraud... I'm not doing it, it's not right, sure you can do it if you want, I don't care, let's mooove on!

Question now is.... bank the money, buy a camera, or get the MINI fixed...hrmmm.

I think you should fix it. Too nice of a car not to.

Then get some Hydro to keep it looking great!

CODY ! :impatient

After all that and now you're considering not even repairing the damage ?

Get it fixed ! It's like a house. You can fix the dripping faucets and the creaking floor boards as they come up. Or... you can let them go and the next thing you know, you live in a dump.

Seriously. Fix.

Yes yes I know I should, but I have a problem that you need to know about.

If I get it fixed, it will be a lumma/rieger bumper (and grilles), and then I have to get the Aero skirts and rear bumper, and then I have to paint it all, including the arches (all new BTW, even more money), and then respray my hood too, and then add a clear bra to it.

Which would be a LOT of money that I don't have! Even if I just get the front bumper it's still going to be $550 + shipping, + grilles, + paint, + a clear bra.

Yea I told my mom she should have hit it more . She should have damaged the crash bar...you know then I would have an excuse to cut it and put a FMIC in.

Do yourself a favor. Take the MINI to a local body shop... one that you know to be fair and reputable (yes, there is such a thing). Find out if the bumper can be repaired. Might be a lot cheaper than you think.

If it can't be repaired, find out of they can get you a used bumper... one off a salvaged MINI that is in as good a shape as yours was prior to the accident, or better. See how much the repair would cost if they found one of those, painted it, and replaced yours.

Might not be as $$$$ as you're thinking. And besides, mom is paying !

Claim estimators aren't that stupid. Pretty easy to tell the difference between an animal strike and a collision claim (I can think of three ways to tell the difference off the top of my heas and I'm not even an estimator---and I don't think I'd share them with the likes of you anyway).

perhaps his mom drives and impala? or a mustang? or a jag? or a baracuda (but that might be too fishy of a claim)

Nah I couldn't get a stock bumper, I hate the way it looks.

Yea I'm very stubborn... And oh, it WILL be replaced or fixed...but not next week...might take a month or so until I decide what I want to do.

Yeah, if he tried to claim a barracuda hit his bumper, we'd better be smelling fish when we do the estimate !

And don't forget the Jaguar, Cougar, Rabbit, Stingray, Roadrunner, and the Hornet (although it wouldn't cause much damage).
