Does anyone have any idea how much the dealer charges to replace the material?
I just today noticed that the black/grey leatherette seats in my '06 MCS have some cracking. It's on the lower bolster of the driver's side seat closest to the door. I sent an e-mail to my SA with a picture so we'll see what happens. My car only has 14K on it and I don't feel it should have this type of wear after so little time.

I replied to your PM!

On the way home, I tried the wood beads seat covers and the straw folding seat cover. Both were an improvement, but not a complete fix. To make matters worse, the button for the heated seats is right next to the travel mug holder. A couple of times I've put the travel mug down and accidentally turned on the heated seats. Yikes!

I don't know what it is with those seats. I've never had a problem like this in any other car. It's to the point where I'm seriously considering changing the seats.

If anyone has a suggestion, other than sweat gland removal, I would really appreciate it.

That's what mine started out looking like as well. Now, the crack is up to 1/4" wide in spots, with the leatherette actually flaking off in spots...

I just picked up my '09 Mini with cloth seats and I love them! Here are two pictures of the cloth. It's a dark grey/black.

303 Aerospace Protectant or Vinylex (same company that makes Lexol Leather Cleaner) every couple of months on the seats and dash. Also, a sunshade will help.

I'm planning on using 303 on my cloth seats, but how much should I order? They sell a 16 oz. spray and a 32 oz. spray. I don't want to buy too much.

I would not use 303 on your cloth seats. There is a Scotchguard spray to make the cloth interior stain resistant. I would use 303 only on vinyl seats and the dash.

303 is available at O'Reilly's Auto Parts, and your neighborhood auto parts store should carry it. If not you can order on Amazon. 16 oz is plenty and will last you a long time.

Hmm, I really thought that I had read somewhere on the forum that 303 could and should be used on the cloth seats but I'll keep digging. Thanks for the info. I'll check with O'Reilly's and see what they have. Thanks!
