Looking for a more aggressive front than my OEM Aero kit, (wifey doesn't like the control arms on the M7 Splitter which is my first choice ) but I really like the Lumma front bumper.

Has anyone who has replaced their Aero front bumper with the Lumma/Rieger one, just changed that alone or have you fitted other Rieger parts too? I'm hoping that the front bumper will work with the rest of the OEM Aero kit.

Thanks in advance

Only pic I can find is this

Hee Hee, I owe you guys pics, I shared some rough ones with Irish already, but they were bad pics (bad lighting, dirty car, etc). I put on Aero Side Skirts, rear Aero bumper, M7 grills, M7 Extreme scoop, and Orcami(sp?) cowl scoops, and HB mini front and rear badges.

I also know the guy in that picture(yellow mini), he is in S. NJ. Stay tuned.... I'll try to find time to wash sometime this week and get some pics posted up.

Great photos, physicsgeek! I've had my eye on this bumper for quite some time. Can we try to put together a group buy?

I presume it comes completely unpainted, even the fender flares?

yes it does come unpainted and the place that i called sells the Euro version that doesnt have a spot for the US spec fender trim reflectors (which is what i wanted anyway!) And judging from the pics the yellow MINI is the only car i have seen with the reflectors added in somehow. Im all about a group buy.

I've seen the yellow mini in person, the side markers were cut into the fiberglass and molded in. It was a okay job.

I will get pics out sometime this week of mine in HB

I kinda agree... It's very... "flat". But I have an orange car, and it might look good on it.

So the wheel arch trim has to be PAINTED on? How do you match the texture of the semi-matte black plastic? I don't want to paint my trim - I actually like the textured black aganst the orange.

estrictlyforiegn sells them. I have a query into them as to availability. They list the bumper for $550 about. Seems a fair price. I'd guess $300-400 for painting? (what type of guess is that...)

I paid $300 to have my aero front bumper painted. And Matt the factory aero bumper comes primed and the flares have to be painted also.

My body guy painted the front for $250-$300, I can't remember exactly, he did the rear aero bumper, scoops, emblems, and downtubs all at the same time, perfect HB paint match. The flares can be painted pretty close to the plastic flares and texturized. Even the factory aero painted parts aren't a perfect match.

On the pics above, you've got to paint the fog light and middle grill area black otherwise it looks strange, it needs the contrast. I'm working on a middle grill solution too, but just haven't gotten time to work on it yet. Also, the AL bumper under the bumper cover needs to get sprayed semigloss black with a rattle can, otherwise it will look like the orange one.

So whats up with the middle grill? Is it solid? I see some with what looks to be a grill and others without. Can it be cut out and wonder if a grill is available for it, ala, M7 Ultimate grills?

I got word from Strictly Foreign that they have the bumper in stock. I asked about a group buy price, and will report when I hear.
Yes, the black sections seem to be critical to make it look good. I can imagine cutting the middle grille out and using a M7 type metal grille there. At least it might be possible to leave it solid, but glue a metal grille in place just to match the aero grille most of us have in the bonnet.

The middle section is solid, and I wouldn't recommend cutting it out because it helps give the fiberglass strength going across the middle, my body guy didn't think it would be a good idea either, but should be painted black to look correct. All that is under it is the AL bumper anyway. I thought about getting a MINI upper aero grill, but I knew I wouldn't be able to match it for the Reiger front bumper openning. So I decided to go the M7 Grille route since I was able to match it exactly from GrillCraft.

None of the pictures above have a middle grille, and there isn't anyone that makes them for the middle or lower openings(Reiger may make a lower one if you can get it). That being said, I put in a M7 black upper grille, then, called up GrillCraft (makes of M7 grilles) and ordered 2 sheets of the universal grille mesh ($50 each) so that pattern would match exactly to the M7 grille. One sheet I used to make the lower front, and the 2 small grilles for the Oricami(sp?) cowl scoops. The other sheet I used for the rear Aero bumper(I cut out the opening, didn't like the whole sticker idea, and painted the heat sheilding). I still have plenty of left over material that I am going to use for the front middle grille. I first made cardboard templates, which I can send if anyone wants to borrow them. Then traced out the pattern on the mesh and cut out with a jig saw(easy to do, watch out for sharp edges) Once all my grilles were cut out, I had my powdercoater coat them all "Coal Black", a semi-gloss black, matched the M7 grilles perfectly. (it was $5 per grille to coat) Then the bottom on attaches to tabs around the grille opening, but have your body guy add many more than what is from Reiger. Then I used really small stainless screws, washers, nuts and blue locktight to secure the mesh. Turned out GREAT as you will see in the pics when I ever get around to taking some. Feel free to ask any more quetions you might have.

Later,

Joe

Thats been my main concern from the start is the grills, i want them to match. I was going to paint the fogs and the middle grill like a flat black cause the glossy shown in the pic of the orange doesnt look good. I may go the same route as you PhysicsGeek, and order some extra grill material for the front lower grill and the rear bumper grills. As for the upper grill on the bonnet, im still not sure which route to go, Aero kit, M7, or all black factory grill. I like the Aero Kit grill cause it looks good, the M7 i dont like cause it shows the grill bars or reinforcements or whatever i couldnt think of what its called. So far im leaning toward the Aero kit grill

I finally got it washed and took a bunch of pictures. Here is one of them, see my album in my gallery for a LOT more pictures. I still need to come up with a solution for the middle grille and maybe paint the blue behind the upper grille. Enjoy:

So what's the status on this.....? Group buy at all!? Where can I order one besides http://www.estrictlyforeign.com/asp/...ory=1&ID=1052?

And will the rest of the OEM parts fit with this bumper?

What status? There is no group buy, but you can start one if you find a vendor to work with. What do you mean by OEM parts fit with this bumper? The turn signals do bolt into the bumper. And the fog lights have to move to the Aero Kit postion, down and inward more. I made my own grille using GrillCraft universal material. There are no provisions for the orange side markers though, which I don't care about anyway. I think it turned out great. All my pics are in my gallery.

Sorry I should have clarified my question more. I saw wondering if the Lumma/Rieger bumper would fit with the stock arches... Also, is the bumper Urethane?

And where did you order your grillcraft grilles? Are they the same as the M7 ones (will they fit?) and lastly, where did you order yours from?

Thanks!
