Interior/Exterior Cellular phone questions
I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of my MCS (Indie Blue/Lapis, all 3 pkges, nav system, HK, JCW pkg). Am giving up my trusty Saab 95 which had a very nice factory ready cell phone capability that worked with the vehicle's sound system automatically muting the radio or cd player with cell phone use.
For me this was particularly important as I am a physician and use the cell phone frequently when I am on call. Seeing that presently there is no such option on factory MINI's, do any of the learned members here know of a good after market options in the Dallas area that would suit my needs?
Thanks!

There is a phone option that is built in but doesn't have the parts to go with it yet. there is a microphone and on the steering wheel in the radio buttons there is a button that is not in use because it is part of the phone option. At least that is what the M.A. said, maybe the little microphone thingy is really a listening device.
SkAlex,
What shop did you use?? I'd love to get the mounting bracket they used to mount the kit to the car.

Do a search on MINI2 for bluetooth. You'll find that there is a SonyEricsson kit made for the MINI that interacts with the T68i via the wireless bluetooth protocal. I've heard rave reviews of this set-up.
The shop I used was Custom Audio in Lynbrook, NY.
And no - unfortunately, the sound doesn't mute for my phone. The shop installed 2 speakers (not even sure where) to use with the phone. Eventually, I plan on replacing my headunit (with a DVD screen) and running the voice for my nav over the same speakers I use for my phone.

I have the standard audio system - and the only reason I'd want a second screen is because the nav-TV is $2000 and I can get a higher quality/larger screen if a get a new headunit - and possibly the ability to play MP3/CDs.
