Valve Stem Caps

I bought valve stem caps that have the Union Jack flag on them at the dealership last night. When I swapped them out for the factory caps, I was sutnned at the difference in weight. Any chance that the heavier caps will impact the balance of the tire?

Has anyone had those caps and balance issues?

Paul

I don't think it would affect the balance or alignement

just a guess...

I'm pretty sure your valve stem caps cannot effect the tire balance... Unless these caps are about an inch long and made of lead! (They aren't, right?)

While they are heavier than your plastic caps, I'm sure they are a-OK!

+1

I've never noticed an issue, I got them too, no problems!

I drove to work today for the first time with the much heavier than stock valve caps. No change in the balance is detected when I drive. I will, however make sure the stem caps are on if and when I next balance the tires.

The difference in weight is only an ounce or two so there is no way it will affect the wheel balance on your daily driver.

A valve stem cap will never affect the balance...well I suppose you could get one large enough to do that....was your car an early '07 with standard stems or the TPMS, If you have TPMS di you ever get the stem covers off again?
