If you don't mind me asking what was the round-a-bout price on getting that done with the logo?

And did they just put something under the CF vinyl to make that area a 3d logo?

I would luv to know how the side view mirrors are holding up and with what adhesive was used to keep it from coming off?

I tired wrapping around hard corners and it tends to slightly peal.

@ Acesup1090 Thanks!!!

I believe the price for something like this would be around $400-$500 to have done.
I had a 20 year friendship with the shop owner, so my price was a bit cheaper.

I had a MINI vinyl sticker on the roof, and they put the CF over it, and it made that imprint. It is MEGA!!!

The mirrors are holding up ok. They had to end up splitting the mirror into 2 strips, as it kept pulling apart at the corners.

Is there a brushed aluminum vinyl? Think it would be slick in a all black interior. I like the look of it in my 2008 GTI and would like the same look in my new Mini.

There is, but it does not stretch at all. and externally it only lasts about a year.

How much would I need to do the dash board (brushed aluminum look alike pieces) & the pieces in the door panels? How much would that cost?

I am fascinated by this stuff but have a series of questions.
1. What are you using to cut the vinyl? Is it easy to cut to a template?
2. Have you tried mixing the different colors? In addition to black, I beleive there are a number of other colors - Graphite, Silver, White, etc.
3. Can you install 3M carbon fiber over 3M carbon fiber?

I have a design idea of the exterior of a MC that involves a combination of wraps, stripes and graphic images cut from templates.

It's easy to cut using a hobby knife (Xacto or the like).

There are other colors. We only stock the black.

Yes, but it has thickness and you'll be able to see the layering. It would be better to just join the edges, which is easy enough to do by layering them, cutting a line down through both layers, and weeding out the un-needed pieces.

To figure out how much you need, just figure 3 inches or so of extra material around each thing you want to cover. Then you can plan how much material you need. Make some allotment for mistakes if you're new at doing it.

You can find cost of different size pieces at our web site, HERE.

This might be a great substitute for those cheesy aluminum grill decals that are on the back of my aero kit bumper on my MCS. I have to go measure the replacement decals that I bought (but haven't yet installed) as they'd make a great template to cut out some of this material to stick in the bumper wells.

wrapped Macbook Pro

Recently wrapped my laptop in di-noc CF. Used a heat gun and some 3M primer 94.

And here's my moncarbone iphone 4 case... sorry for the blurry pic.

Yep!
Lyle at Vinyl Styles did mine.

It can be covered with one piece, but there will be a small area at the back of the scoop that won't be covered. Lyle can cut and match small pieces to cover this. I just left them uncovered.

a few questions!!

okay number one question...If i'm putting this on the body of my car, as there are curvy surfaces, would using an adhesion promoter mess up the paint? i mean i want it to stick well, but when it needs to come off i don't want it to take my paint with it!

number two question....what if I wrap my roof and a bird flies over and poops on it? how easy is it to clean this stuff? am I going to be out there with a toothbrush scrubbing away at it only to have like ghost bird poops still showing up? odd question I know but there are a lot of stupid pooping birds where i live!!!

The Primer94 will make the glue stay behing when you remove the vinyl. It's very safe on factory paint, you will just have to use an ahesive remover to clean it up. I would only primer the edges of the roof, or if you have a clubman, do along the inside of the rails aswell.

Keep in mind that you only get one chance using the primer. If you need to pull up to reposition, it will almost definitly leave the glue behind. I only use it on the edges, and only apply it after I have got the rest of the peice wrapped and I'm ready to finish the edges. That way if you accidently push it down, you can still pull it up.

To clean off bird poop, just use high pressure water and a soft scrubbing brush. The longer the poop is on the car, the more chance there is that it will leave a ghost stain in the vinyl.

Was a great vinyl to work with, with the curvature of the hood it was no problem at all. It was a bit harder to cut through than the vinyl I've worked with in the past, though as it is probably twice as thick as standard vinyl.

Sorry to double post, but editing posts is hard on my phone.

I have 2 pieces(about 4 inches by 10 inches) of this stuff left from my stripes. If anyone wants a sample of the material, I'll send you one of them. Just PM me your mailing address and I'll send it out via standard mail. Buy I am out of town until Wednesday, so it won't go out until then. As I said I only have 2, so first 2 dibs get em.

We have a local that did the roof on his Subie in it and then had UV blocking clear applied over the top still holding up, I was betting it would crack due to expansion/contraction in hot/cold but still holding up

Dan, how hard would it be to wrap the oval door trim without removing it?
