Airbag sticker removal from visor

Hello, I have seen several threads and many questions on the airbag sticker removal. I figured out that it was time to try it out myself and make some directions while i was doing it. I have attached a .pdf file detailing the process. I hope someone finds this useful.

i would be interested to see if this same process works on the fabric visors. Im not sure I would want to risk it.

Ive seen people make the MINI logo covers for them.

One of the vendors here on NAM has a nice British-flag sticker that covers the airbag label.

I have JCW stickers covering mine but after almost three years they've become wrinkled and air bubbles have appeared. I may give this a try and go for the clean look. Great tutorial.

I had the same thing happen. When I removed the warning label stickers, I saw that it was the warning label, not the sticker cover that bubbled. I took a knife, scraped the warning label until all the bubbles popped. Put new cover stickers on and they are smooth again.

Thanks for the tip Jim. Think I'll remove the airbag stickers and then re-install a new set of stickers to get back that smooth look again.

Airbag Labels

On my 2011mcs I covered the sun visor airbag labels with a carbon vinyl decal(it matches the Anthracite headliner). I suppose just a black vinyl would work better if it was a flat color of black.

On my 2009mc it has a light color cloth fabric of some sort and the labels peeled off, but did leave an unusual clean spot (it was a one week old car when I did it). I still would like to blend in the color difference that I had, as did picture 6 in the PDF. I did almost exactly what the PDF instructions did and a big Thanks Benmeullerb! I wish it had worked on my 2011 MCS. Those visors are a different material (hard) and appear to have the sticker embedded :-(

Denatured alcohol works a charm (on vinyl) too - stickers literally rub/peel off.

I keep forgetting about that damn windscreen sticker on the top of the drivers side though.......

I'll have to try the alcohol/expo stuff. On my last MINI I used MEK, which ate through my gloves but required a LOT of scrubbing to remove the sticker.

I think that is a good easy fix for the black plastic visors
