i just ordered a set of general exclaim uhp's, supposed to be very good budget tires. they've been on back order for a long time at tire rack but i found them at this place called treadepot.com who has free shipping right now. pretty good deal

I got the general exclaim uhps put on about a month ago. I love them. I replaced the Goodyear F-1s with these and so far they have performed just as well for 1/2 the price. Got them at tirerack. Discount usually matched their prices as long as you take a copy with you!

I will be at BHS all day Saturday if you want to check them out!

Discount Tire has some good deals, but you may need to order online or call first to be sure they get the tires in stock before you go in. Tirerack.com is a great resource also, with the ability to see how the tires will look on various MINIs. I've bought from both multiple times with good results.

Wherever you go to get the tires mounted, have your wheels clean. They seem to take better care of your rims if any damage is easily visible - and probably figure you care more if your car looks well taken care of.

As for tires, if Mr. GBMiniGirl says the UHPs perform as well as the F1 GS-D3s, then I'd opt for those. Kumho makes some inexpensive alternatives, but they don't compare to the F1 GS-D3s.

Since I've had two flats in the last week, I've been shopping tires too. If you want to continue using runflats, It looks like Kumho has a good alternative to the Dunlops. There aren't many people that rated them on Discounts site but all the ones that did, rated them high. And they are a lot less expensive compared to the Dunlops.
