my friend on vwvortex told me he could get me parts for my mini with a 10-15% discount (not including shipping though ). He has accounts from BMP design, monster mini, FK, and he's getting Mini Mania. Now i want to get something from Mini Mania but is a $1000 buy in. Meaning his first order from them has to be a minimun of $1000. I know 10-15% might not be that much but since we don't have a local mini aftermarket store this is the next best thing. We can PM Latka and ask if we form a Mini of HI group we can try for a group discount locally through your contact. I think that BMW of HI can get moss mini stuff and if I purchase there I can get a discount from being a member of BMW club of America (HI chapter) maybe 15% off so same deal by through the dealership and I don't think I pay shipping just tax. Might want to work with the parts dept at BMW of HI to get more accounts going with various mini tuners and then go with a group discount through the Mini Club- just talk to Andy (Latka) and see what we can work up as a deal. Right now everything ordered via the internet is really expensive to ship over to HI so there are no discounts out there to make up for that.

Jus - So far what I've read is that of all the intakes for the MC, a cold air intake like the Pipercross Viper seemed the best way to go. Your thoughts? Can you get 'em?

You're right, for the MC-
The Pipercross viper makes the most power about 10HP and is the more comprehensive kit, draws more cold air and looks fantastic. Cost on the internet is $329.
Ask Justin to give you a discount or if you have a membership with BMW Car Club then you also qualify for a discount.

 

Minuhune - looks like an easy bolt on job. I saw on another forum some guy had trouble w/ the install. He didn't have that duct on the right and the red piece was a little longer. Do you know if there was an earlier version which was incorrect? Isaw first the intake, then the exhaust (borla?), then the chip.

 

Not sure about earlier versions and trouble with installation but I did find some good threads about the viper kit
