In preparation for the Italian Job premiere-
I've got an MCS indy blue with white roof and aero grille and I'm searching for a similar red with white and aero grille and white with aero grille to do some precision motorin in Hawaii.

Frankly trying to find a white with aero grille is going to be hard- only a cooper will do. Pretty limited.

Red with aero grille should not be so hard.

Remember the blue one goes first and the white one last.

We can substitute a nice silver/black with aero grille for the white- since we will be moving so fast most people will not be able to tell the last car was not white.
Sunroofs are optional.

We have only a month to prepare

 

Can a Dark Silver MCS come out to play?

 

...and a Liquid Yellow MCS :smile:

Got an e-mail from Judy over at MINI of Hawaii a few days ago. There's some stuff in the works for the IJ premier - I'll get in touch with her and see if anything has firmed up yet.

Speaking of the Italian Job (the original), they're supposed to re-release it on DVD. It's already out in Europe, but the last I heard they weren't sure if they were going to release it here in the US. Grr.

Sure all minis can come out to play. I guess if we have three then that can complete the set. and Off we go.

Just checking to see if there are any aero front Red or White minis out there for the full effect

Technically I would have to add the sunroof (too heavy) and stripes and change my wheels to be accurate and each of those IJ minis have the full aero body kit -Expensive!

Maybe we can get together and when there are enough groups of three then they go off motoring. Then the next set goes off. People will think we travel in sets of three like an orca pod. We will call it a mini pod and call the activity podding Just an idea. Should try it out.

Anyway with the number of pepper white minis out there so low I think silver and yellow are great colors to complement blue and red.

Perhaps we could get Darrel to bring the Pepper White MC. He has teh one w/ the chrome 17s.

Good news. I have a multi-region Macrovision-disabled DVD player and I have the UK DVD of the movie (the original of course)! I will make VHS copies and bring them to the Spring Fling. The graphics added to the menu are all of Minis whizzing this way and that and it's all really cool. I'll add the documentary to the tape. The movie's held up really well. I doubt the new one will have so many Mini scenes.

 

Oooh,oooh,oooh, Sadie, I want one! I want one! The original IJ, that is!

 

The film features - IB/White/Black mirrors MC, PW/W MC, and a CR/W MCS
all with bonnet stripes which I believe were painted on.

There is no flag or colors for L.A. However, silver is appropriate for the silver screen....

Can i get a copy of te old Italian Job movie from you? I bought the movie from ebay from someone from England and it doesn't play on my VCR(just learned afterwards about region 2 videos). :smile:
