would this be the optima red top battery or yellow top deep cycle one?

btw, my brother's '03 mcs battery just died on him the other week. he brought it in to the dealer and got it fixed, which i assume means a replacement battery. anybody else's battery died yet?

and may i ask what the advantage of a gel type battery is?

my 02 MCS's need to be jumped last month (FYI, the AAA guy said to jump these cars with a charger box vs car to car...the car to might short your CPU...yikes).

my SA said that since my miles were low (only 19k), the battery does not have enough driving time to fully recharge the OEM battery. thus my SA said that it's not covered by my warrenty...

when i had my fender bender, my autoshop said that i should look into a gel type battery. since the MCS has it located in the boot, god knows what exploded back there if we don't check it. on top of that, the gel type should give you more juice to run your "other" fun things in you car if you have the i.e. dvd, custom stereo, etc....

as for the type to use, i have no clue, but since my battery is always on the black dot, i figure i should do this before it really just die on me one night....

Kohu's 03 MC battery died recently. Ask him.

Also Erik808's battery was not responding about a month or two ago- not sure what happened to it.

That would raise my eyebrows, too. How would they know if it was a weekend car or if the car was used 3x a week? No battery warranty I have seen has had a low mileage limitation.

hmmm..that is strange. I only have a little over 16k miles and my MINI is an 03...and once I got my MINI to the dealership (which is a whole nother story...) they replaced it no questions asked. And this was back in Feb, when I probably only had something like 12k miles.

It's settled then. The problem lies with a faulty SA that should be replaced

Well, guess we need to have the old SA repaired then. But I am not about to ask her if she's been used frequently enough to be covered under warranty...
