I will be attending if this is true. So I can show off my new Mini and possibly even try out the new LSD!!!!!! So let me hear from everyone who is going to the auto x. See you guys soon.

When I had the MCs and MCS, there was a breakin period of 1200 miles where you are supposed to vary engine speeds and never break 4.5k or 5k rpms and I think 90 mph. If not, the piston rings may not be seated correctly which can lead to excessive oil consumption.

Here's a couple of threads on break-in.

Also, be careful about tracking your new car. MINI of Hawaii has had warranty issues with cars that have been on the track.

Casey,

I will be there early. You can come and watch either morning or afternoon.
If you are there at the end of the day and have a helmet you can join me for fun runs.

I run in heat 2 in the late morning and stock cars run in heat 3 right after lunch. If you run then it would be in heat 4 about 3pm, registration for you would be at noon.

I would suggest keeping to your manual's recommendation of doing the break in correctly for the first 1250 miles.

Break in time also includes:
Tire break in- first few 100 miles, get the film off the new tires
Brake break in- first 200-300 miles, getting everything seated and wearing right
Clutch break in- first 500 miles

Hope to see you there in any case.

"yucky auditors"! What makes them so yucky? Mostly that they are IN your office this week?

Yes!!!!.....MINI recommends a break-in period at first 1250 miles.

One event should take care of that...
