[Hawaii] CG-Lock local deal

Troy Morioka (FSP394 at SCCA auto-x) has asked me to pass the following notice to Hawaii MINI owners and track folks :

He is selling the popular CG-Lock for $35 flat. If we can get ten orders together (order of ten placed at once as group buy) he will sell them for $32 each.

I am not affiliated with Troy's efforts (only friends through SCCA and SuperLap) but I can definitely recommend this product. I recently switched from Schroth harness to CG-Lock. Bgrpph has driven auto-x, SuperLap, SCCA Track events, and BMWCCH Aloha500 with the CG-Lock.

I am planning to order one more, for passenger side, but if we can get nine more orders, I'd be willing to wait until we get ten total. If interested, either post here or contact Troy at mailto:tmorioka@flex.com.

Maybe the_beastmaster can chime-in on this but for the BMWCCH's events they DO require "equal" restraint (whatever the driver uses, the instructor must also have); therefore, for SpringFling and Aloha500, you WILL need two if you plan to use during the DE. kbseto, you will only need one for street, auto-x, and/or track use. bgrpph has two because he went to Aloha500; however, I only have one but will order another one during this opportunity.

No, it is NOT a harness. Here is a link that may help explain what it is : http://www.cg-lock.com/ I actually replaced my Schroth harness with the CG-Lock because I never could find the "perfect/comfortable" fit with the harness. Although the CG-Lock does not lock down the upper body, it seems to work fine for me.

BMW CCA and other organizations utilize an equal restraint rule for their driver's schools. This does increase the cost as you require one more set of harnesses or CG locks for your vehicle. However, if you were instructing, how would you feel if the student has a 5 point harness and was ripping turns when you are strapped in with factory lap/shoulder belt?
