If you folks want to do a MINI Meet/BBQ.....like a real big one where EVERYONE is invited, I've already made arrangements with Ala Moana park, and they've agreed to close down the "keyhole" parking area (near the tennis courts) for us if we want. We can probably fit about 100 MINIs in that area. I just think it would be nice if we were not limited to the number of people invited. I understand that the upcoming cruise, logistically, can not accommodate EVERY MINI owner on Oahu....but a venue like this could. We would need the dealeship's help to get people invited..... Just a thought.

WOW! You sure have been working hard on this, Keiki! If they are going to close the Keyholes area for the MINIs that is awesome. I guess this sort of thing is a bring your own BBQ type of thing so everyone can do as they wish.

Actually, a cruise can handle 100+ cars. The only thing that is necessary is everyone knows the route and the approximate times the caravan is in specific areas. Traffic lights will separate the pack, but if they know the route, everyone will end up at the same place. Also, this is why intermittent stops are suggested as this will allow others to regroup. I think the CEASR cruise had 100+ cars and they held it together. The same thing goes for the Racesauce cruise which I heard had 200+ cars.

You all must be really experienced at this, but how does one bring BBQ stuff, food, drink and all and more than one other person in a MINI?

That's pretty easy to store in a MINI. Put all of that in the boot area. I even have a cooler/warmer that plugs into the boot power port.

In the past, I packed a complete set of 17" wheels and tires AND an M3 exhaust in the MC.

keikilee, thanks for stepping up to organize an event that is open to everyone and anyone who is affiliated with MINI/Mini/kukai list/kiss *** list/etc. maybe the dealership will learn from your example. hehehehe.

i dunno if they'll give you the list of emails but you could certainly ask. i know that when i asked for it to do the 808-motoring invites, darrel said something about not releasing it until a bonafide "club" is formed. i believe the president was latka -- he loves classic minis but could give a ***** about the dealership so i guess that club has dissolved

turmoil in the happy MINI world.

Folks....I lived and breathed "Event Coordination" as my career for a few years, so I love doing this kind of stuff.

Anyways, the bottom line is, do you want to make this a BIG event? If so, I'll check on dates to reserve the keyhole. if you don't, I'm not even going to worry about anything as things will just "fall into place".

I personally would rather do it BIG and split the cost of catered food, rent a tent/bbq equip. We could do somethign real nice and easy for about $10/person. Just say the word and I'll make some calls!

Do it BIG TIME! I'll take care of security. I'll bring a couple of my boys to take care of troublemakers. CCH also has a 10x20 tent that I'm sure we could borrow.

I agree. Lets go BIG TIME.
Thank you Keikilee and Beastmaster for igniting us.

Lets call it our "First annual MINI Makahiki"!

(Makahiki is a season of new beginning. It is a festive time just after the harvest and involves feasts and merriment and games. There is a detailed definition located at the following).

ok, I'll make some calls first thing monday. I've also got a tent (one of those fully enclosed ones that are good for the food. If we could use the CCH one also, that would be great. Anyways, I'll post more later about date availability, etc.

Sounds awesome, Keiki. It would be great to see so many MINIs and MINI folks in one place.
