wow, that's great! sounds like a good turnout. I needed to leave early so I didn't get to see minihune, kohu`ula, esoteric and Paul. but got to meet nobias99 and silversurfer which I hadn't met previously.

Looked like mini-t was nearly done getting rid of her stuff. Hopefully she was able to sell/give away most of it. Unfortunately, the male skeleton, wasn't big enough for me, so I passed!

Being that we've got the BMWCCH thing in April, spring fling in May, let's plan for the next meet in June. Maybe do a BBQ.

keikilee,
Sorry I missed you.

June is good. BBQ? What shall we serve up? How about Gnats? They are plentiful. Anybody for gnat jam on toasted rye?

Yes, I figured the white bug kbseto found on my MINI was not a gnat but it was somewhat gnat size.
For all we know it was a gnat hunter. Oops, we should have left it alone!!

keikilee,

Thanks for taking the initiative to motivate us in meeting today. Hope this M.M.M. doesn't die off and continues! Good seeing everyone who made it.

thanks to keikilee for organizing the event -- we all had a good time! next time you need to stay longer

i did unload a lot of the stuff i packed in my mps but i still have little odds and ends that need to be auctioned off in a future event...hint, hint. bbq sounds good. maybe we can hold it at kakaako (do they allow bbqs?) or in someone's garage/backyard?

It was nice to meet you all and connect faces to Avatars. Very impressive fleet of MCS's. I felt like a chihuahua among bulldogs. BTW, reminds me of the Bulldog in the "getting acquainted" video on the MINIUSA website.

not at all. how could anyone (including service reps and techs) not see the sweetness? They should want to do back flips for you.

My radar was on.
I never said they weren't working. We saw tons of new cars on test drives in that parking lot.
Did we/you convince that lady to buy the LY/W MC with rally lights? It looked perfect for her. Very cool.

In fact if we line up all the MINIs we would attract more attention from all those doing test drives.
Make them look and forget those Nissan Maximas and Honda Civic Sis!
Come to think of it there are a lot of car dealers within a mile of that lot!

Many thanks to Keikilee for suggesting the MINI meet.
I think it would be a good thing to keep doing. Any more ideas?- just post them

Funny that you mention, the miniusa site had suggested planning mini meets around community service. I think one was an adopt a highway idea, the other was meals on wheels, and one more...can't remember. We could always do another food drive or poker run, or clean-up-the-gnats-at-everyone's-house meet?

Community service! Absolutely. Great thing to do with a MINI meet.
Ideas?
Cleanup of parks, beaches, highways, or roads-
Service to a church- provide labor or manpower help-
Service to a non profit organization
Volunteer to be course marshalls at a run or event to benefit a charity
Food drive or Toys for tots.
Blood bank drive!?!
Think of anything else? Suggest it.

At least they turned you down because of the height /weight ratio. They took my blood and sent me a letter later on saying they destroyed it and I should go to my doctor and get a blood test!

Actually, I'm not joking. I did give blood and they did destroy it. The letter scared the JEEBUS out of me as it said this and that and I didn't understand any of it. Turns out my liver was messed up from too much drinking and I was diabetic.

Beastie,

Thought you were joking :???: - I apologize for my joke. I hear you though. Seems everyone in my family (the men) is diabetic (I hear it's a major issue here).

Once again, sorry for my misguided humor,
Dirk

No offense taken as it was not misguided humor. I did party a lot in my younger days, and still do on occassion. They should have just given me my blood back.

So as I plan my MINI activity calendar for May, when do we want to have our next MINI meet and where??
I think we did pretty good last time and we could vary our locations if that seems to work.
Like one month in town and another month over in Waipio or maybe the windward side or Hawaii Kai.
Ideas?

How about in a very visible place with good eats nearby?
Nothing like attracting attention and drawing a crowd.

Ala Moana Center
Pearl Ridge Mall
Windward Shopping Center
Pearl Kai Center
Waikele Center
Costco in Waipio, Dole, or Hawaii Kai (anyone like Costco food? Hey it's cheap)

Since we got a circle island run (supposedly) and spring fling in may, maybe no need to another meet until summer time?

What about a progressive dinner? You could either start out at a place for salad, move to another place for entree and end up with dessert. Or you could do it in reverse.

Maybe sushi night.

uhhh..."ct" night? does that appeal to my stomach as much as sushi night? how's about a hint?

or we could just do a progressive dessert run? start with dessert and finish with dessert.

btw, today in wahiawa i saw kathy muneno walking into "da pokeman" shop on kamehameha highway around 10 am. i assume this was for one of her tasty segments.

yum, yum.
