Just talked to minihune and he can't make it in the early AM either; therefore, it looks like the cruise is not going to happen. He said the only definite people were ghui, bgrpph and myself. I was looking forward to it but it's already 8:06 AM so I guess it's too late.

whoa, i'm sorry if i started the bad news. after my bad news it sounded like everything went downhill, and everybody started dropping out one by one.

but, in a selfish way, i'm happy cause i should be able to go then. maybe we can start planning for next weekend? how's about we start up a poll or something? either sat/sun and am/pm/mid-day? recast our votes on 808-motoring?

or if not, the next next weekend? sheesh by that time, it's almost mini and a movie. maybe early am drive and then m&m? or m&m and pm drive?

either way, let's start planning earlier.

I got a few calls this morning from disappointed motorers that still want to go so-

For those that can make it there are about 4 or 5 of us that are meeting at the Hawaii Kai Park and Ride parking lot at about 10am this morning.

Sorry for the last minute notice. We'll head out to the coast and around to Sandy beach then through Waimanalo and to Kailua.

Sorry i missed you folks on the ride. cell was off, turned it on at 11am to have msg about ride, tried to catch you folks thru windward & pali but missed you. I had nice ride all by myself , cept for castle junction traffic yuck- till next ride

Sorry we did not catch you soon enough. We stayed at the park n ride until 10:38 then headed out to Sandy Beach along the coast. There were only three of us and thanks also to ghui who could not make it for the ride but did keep us company in Hawaii Kai.

We saw several LY/W MINIs going the other way in Waimanalo. One of them waved back.
Then we picked up a PS/B MC with two ladies while on our way to the Pali Lookout.
They waved back at us.

We talked to some people from Tennesee who own an MCS. They asked DakineMINI about his wet okole seat covers.

Overall we had fun and a safe trip. Bridgestone Potenza S-03 and Yokohama ES100 tires do stick to the ground on turns.

Maybe we will go out again before the end of the month if there is enough interest. Maybe the last sunday in the morning so at least there might be less traffic.

Sorry I got there late! Had a hard time getting out of the house after telling my wife I was available to do chores - you probably can imagine.

Thanks for leading us through the twisties! Good fun (except the part where the monster truck almost ate us)! It was funny when Andrew said his RFs felt like he was flying around in a jet. Andrew.....now that you have your h-sport stuff installed it's time to invest in some new shoes!

I will post the few pictures I took under a different thread when I get back tonight.

I was playing the IJ soundtrack while motoring.

Two out of three of us had bonnet stripes (for inspiration?). We didn't go into any subway tunnels, onto any sidewalks,into any water, or into any drainage ditches but we did negotiate some twisty roads and avoiMINIobjects bigger than us.

Good idea keikilee! Monthly cruise sounds great! If it's set monthly, it'll be easier for those of us who need "approval" to go out to play. Who else thinks this is a good idea? <<
