Here is the new season schedule of Autocross events 2017-18

Test and Tune 7/16/17 a good event for new drivers and to practice, less drivers, more runs.

First event 7/30/17. Starts off season, 4 competition runs and funruns at end of day, buy $5 fun run cards good for up to 5 runs for practice.

Closed shoes and Snell rated M2005 or later helmet required. Loaners available.

Usually we get about 100 drivers and we do have Junior Karts for kids from 8 to 18.

Come by and check it out, no charge to watch.

 

Coming fast is July 16 Test and tune- good practice day for new drivers.

Chance to get instruction and more runs in than a normal event.

Otherwise new season starts 7/30 (four competition runs, then fun runs at end of day weather and time permitting). Be sure to order online $5 fun run card, these not sold at events. Good for 5 runs during fun run sessions.

 

July 16 sunday is Test and tune at Aloha Stadium- practice day for autocross.

Don't delay, it filled up halfway in 3 hours since pre reg opened.

Otherwise first autocross event for new season is two weeks later on July 30

Test and tune was great, got a lot of practice done.

Hi I know this is may not be the right place to ask but if anyone can help me it'll be great. Hi guys this is Rudy, I've been in oahu for about 5 months, I'm having issues with my mini there's a noise coming from the engine it may be the water pump or supercharger. The car still runs but not as smooth as it used to. Im looking for a mechanic that works on Mini's or a reputable place that's not as expensive as the dealership. I live I Ewa Beach, any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance

New drivers sign up for Rookie class and drive in Heat 2. Instructors available for any rookie for remainder of the season (only 2 events remain).

 

The season is now over for 2017-18 and only the Run Off championship is scheduled for April 8

SCCA will be showing cars on the upper level of the Hawaii Convention Center for the First Hawaiian Auto Show April 13- 15, 2018 coming soon. You can watch videos of events and see some cars on display. We will have open wheel race cars, Jr Karts, autocross and Rallycross cars.

Test and Tune event on July 22 followed by event 1 on July 29 so get ready.

Also in early 2019 we will bring back Evolution Driving School for MLK weekend January 19-21 for three days of high performance driving with instructors from the mainland.

Bronson 2008 Cooper S in D Street class, 1st out of 16 in class, 61st on raw time overall, 39th on Pax overall. 2nd place (Porsche Cayman S) in class trailed by 0.137 seconds so very close. Top 4 places separated by about 1/2 sec. Great job on tight short course. On Points there are three drivers including Bronson tied for first. 12 events for the season, 3 times can be dropped. So far with 4 events only one best time counts.

Rookie Class
Bronson 2008 Cooper S in D Street class, 2nd out of 15 in class, 46th on raw time overall, 32nd on Pax overall. trailed 1st by only 0.16 sec on 32 second course that was tight, packed with slaloms, and lower speed. Overall a great job of driving. 4 clean runs each faster and dropped times by almost 3 sec.

Championship Runoffs are this sunday April 7, only open to drivers that drove in at least 6 of the 12 events during the season. You can still come to watch all day racing. Two courses, one in the morning is flipped to run in the opposite direction for the afternoon. Three runs each way and one best morning and afternoon time are combined for final results. More difficult than regular event, drive twice. Possible fun runs at the end if time permits so bring closed shoes if you want to ride along. Helmet loaners available.

Don't forget that next autocross event is a practice one on July 21 at Aloha Stadium lower parking lot.

Pre-registration is online as with all events.

Test and tune is special in that it is not a competition day and you are allowed more runs to practice and you can even bring more than one car to drive.
Each car you wish to drive must be tech inspected in the early morning before the event and sticker placed on the windshield. Then you park it in the pit area until you want to drive.

You will be working in some heats and driving in others. You can take one passenger (helmet and closed shoes required and at least 12 years old). Loaner snell rated helmets are available with ID deposit first come first served.

It can be a long day so bring a hat, some sunblock and dark glasses and fluids or lunch. As a driver you can have one support vehicle and pit crew, all others will be spectators and allowed only in the awning area out near the course.
Your pit crew person can move from pit to grid to track areas during the event. Tents for shade are allowed but need to be weighted down on all corners due to gusting winds. Unattended tents need to be broken down when not used.

Fun runs are possible at the end of the day if time and weather permits.
