Moving to Maui...

I am in the planning stages of moving myself and my MINI to Maui.

I have already gone to the Matson site and checked shipping rates so I am pretty dialed on that.

I am in Maui now and have seen lots of MINIs which makes me very happy!

I am thinking that I wont actually be moved for 6 months to a year...
Got to sell my house, sell stuff, basically simplify and get rid of stuff I don't need...

Anyone have any comments, suggestions, etc???

Thanks and Aloha!

Maui is one of my favorite places! very peaceful. Keep in mind that sending your Mini there will take up to a month if you are shipping it by container ship, not sure what pricing is on that but be carefull as they tend to beat things up somewhat on those ships, try and get your own container a 22 foot one that only has your car in it. If you are not worried about cost or your company is paying to move you, I would ship it by Air, the car is light and the pricing would not be to expensive, that way the car is in transit less time with less chance of damage. If you need information on this send me a PM

I lived in Oahu for about 4 years. I always liked to go to Maui to get a break from all the hustle and bustle of Honolulu.

You, too? My brother lives there and after several years of convincing myself that I didn't want to live there, I'm willing to admit that it was a lie! I'm looking to move as well...

Definitely get a sun shade- Moss MINI has all of the snazzy front, back, side (?) shades to keep ya car cool and save your dash.

Think of the neoprene seat covers, too!

... Where do you think you'll live? I think I am trying for Paia... Mana Foods is like a playground for me!

Unfortunately I have to put it off until the market comes back a bit, I need to get more $$$ out of my house than I would if I sold it right now...

I was thinking Haiku! I love Mana foods!
Have you tried the crepe place right across the street! Super yummy!!!!

Yeah the market is a total bummer, how dare it ruin your plans to move! How far has it set back your plans?

I have tried the crepe place- but not the crepes because I have celiac disease and can't eat a lot of food. But, I always stop in there for curry!

Haiku is awesome- check Craigslist (honolulu.craigslist.org/mau). There are tons of places, I almost moved into a work-trade deal at a lovely compound in Huelo but thought I should pay off some bills before I move.

Stupid bills...

Nicole,

Aloha and welcome.

Too bad we lost the Super Ferry or the Oahu MINIs would try to come over and visit more often.

If you can find a place to live not far from where you work that would be best.

No highways on Maui. Lots to do in Maui and on the other islands.
