If my memory is correct, the Toys 4 Tots Rally has been held on the last Sunday morning of November.
1) Does anyone know (or has a reliable source that they can confirm) if there will be one held this year on November 30th?
2) Reply to this thread if you're interested in this cruise.

Thanks erik808!!!

Anyways, I found out some scoops about Toys for Tots. A friend of mine is helping to coordinate the the Toys for Tots Cruise for street bikes and told me that they aren't participating with the Marines this year. Aparently there has been a lot of controversy about the way the toys were distributed (or not distributed). They will still be coordinating a cruise, but will be calling it Toys for Kids (or something like that) and will work with the Salvation Army. Their run is normally held on the first Sunday in December and will be from Ala Moana to Waikiki in the morning, as opposed to last years run which was from the convention center to Waikiki in the afternoon (It might have been Aloha Tower, but I can't remember).

Well, I guess this wasn't really insightful information about the car cruise, but that's what I could dig up about the Toys for Tots Organization. The info about the Toys for Tots Org is hear-say from my stand point, but the Street Bikers must believe it to be true if they're changing the venue. I'll try to validate this info, or get more info tomorrow.

Me being a retired Marine, "with 22 years seniority" can attest to the integrity of the "Toys for Tots program". I can't speak for the individual local programs that may or may not have an outstanding record. I did my final tour of duty here in Hawaii and never heard of any complaints about the Marine Reserves efforts in distributing toys to the children in need. I do know that certain groups occaisionally will feel left out when they participate in the program if their paricular charity is not represented as well as they thought it should be. Many groups participate in the Toys for Tots program and it is hard to imagine that anyone can be disappointed in the results. It is nice to know that someone has started a similar program that can only benefit more kids in need. I'll participate in both of them. Let's get our MINI's out there and help the Keiki.

No, please do not gift wrap the toy. A lot of toys are meant for children in specific age groups. The toys will need to be visible so that they can be matched with the correct age group. However, the toy must be unopened, in it's original shrink wrap, blister-packaging, etc (if applicable).

Thanks for bringing up that point, jipc, and welcome aboard!

ps- don't forget the canned food too.

11/30...i plan to be there. not sure if i'll be able to make the early bird contest though, although a rc mini is something on my x-mas wish list. i guess if there's no nice waves that a.m., i'll be there for the contest. got my toys to donate already a few weeks ago from one of those people soliciting all kinds of knick-knacks around business establishments.

And Minihune, thank you for taking care of that!! I had to make an emergency trip and was away the past few days, just flew in this afternoon from the Bay Area (saw ONE MINI, black w/ checkered roof, stripes, no plates w/ Desert MINI dealership trim plate).

I hope tomorrow is not super wet like today was.

Scurves has auto display company in Lakeside CA
http://vehicledisplays.com

Several auto dealers has his products in Hawaii that display raised cars. I think I have seen some of them over in Waipahu on Farrington Hwy (the Jeep and Chysler dealer).

Yes indeed many thanks to Scurves (Earl). Planning my drop off at 830am.
