Hi gang,

Was lookin to purchase the Canon Eos 300D Digital SLR camera (the kit that includes the 18-55mm lens) for my upcoming birthday... and if it's available here in the islands I thought I'd get it here rather than order it off the web. Anyone into photography that can reccomend a store?

Thanks,
Andy

Francis Camera on Kapiolani Boulevard is AWESOME, but they are expensive. But, their customer service is hard to beat. Once your buy a camera from them, you are offered classes, and they give you a 1 on 1 demonstration on how to use your camera.

If you don't need instruction and the customer service, try compusa or circuit city, believe it or not, they tend to carry a pretty wide variety of cameras. Kaimuki Camera is not bad, you can also try Byteware.

Hope that helps...and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! For my birthday, I bought a MINI!

Thank 'ya  I'll be sure to check 'em out.

The B-day is still a bit away... middle of November yet, but I'm pretty excited about getting a new camera.

Is this the one you are talking about? http://techbargains.pricegrabber.com...5b755fd81b903a

I've been out of photography for many years, but the trusted stores were Francis, Rainbow and Central.

Yes, try Francis Camera, first. Also check Shirokiya at Ala Moana, CompUSA, Circuit City; and believe it or not Costco and Walmart.
If you decide mail order, I bought some equipment from B&H (they're located in New Yawk) and has a good reputation. There free catalog is about an inch thick.
