Let's not flip out.
>>>>I know that there are some serious legal issues going on between MINI USA and MCO, but let's remember that MINI of Hawaii does carry many products exclusive to our dealership.
**That's why I say our local MINI dealer is AWESOME! Thinking outside the MINI box and carry products exclusively to Hawaii
We try to get involved and support the MINI enthusiast community any way we can, and remember that the stance of MINI USA and BMW NA don't always reflect the views of its employees.

**Forward thinking, I say!

What's wrong with wearing flip flops in CO? I used to wear them when I lived there.

Yup, I lived in Colorado for four years and I used my rubber slippers at all times through all the seasons and even played tennis in the snow with them. Not as first choice for footwear but because we felt it was too much trouble to change into shoes plus the weather wasn't too harsh for our toes.
Then again we wore T-shirts and shorts all year long as well. Kinda hard not to be "hawaiian" even when surrounded by a different environment.
So if you are wondering- what sort of other clothes we wore for the cold- we had down vests and sometimes used gloves. If it was actively snowing I'd put on my jeans and down coat and scarf esp for biking in the snow. (which is very fun on ice by the way).

Boy that brings back the memories! If it wasn't snowing and the weather was nice, I'd walk to class in t-shirt, shorts and sneakers. Everyone thought I was nuts! Of course if I wore long pants I'd change to shorts as soon as I got home. The usual reply was "why are you dressed like that, it's snowing outside?" And I'd say, yes, it is snowing OUTSIDE, but it is heated INSIDE!
I don't know how you guys do it. Put me in the snow and I turn into a popsicle. I need a sweater, coat, socks, gloves, pants...layers upon layers just to keep warm (and I am from Oregon!).

I didn't say we didn't get cold. But if you are moving around then it isn't as bad as it sounds. Also after it snows it usually warms up in Colorado so you just push away all the snow from the roads or tennis courts and it's time to bike or play tennis until it snows again.
Now Chicago was different. Less shorts, slippers mostly indoors. Biting cold. Some mornings in the winters, one third of all the cars in Chicago would not start according to AAA club. If you did manage to start then when you first drove it felt like the motor oil and brake fluid were like molasses. Everything freezes.

I tried to flip out....(since I am a flip)....but didn't. In other words...they didn't have my size!
But I did get a hat and the clear side blinker thingy...my first exterior mod besides my tint. Yeah!

Hey Hawaii,
I got the rubbah slippahs right here in St. Louie-they really are comfy & look pretty cool while driving Louie. Since my Hawaii trip & Sylvia taking me to Walmart for $2
slippahs, that's all I wear. Sort of reminds me of the Islands. The MINI slippahs were a little more than 2 bucks however. BTW, a trip back may be in the making for next year
Aloha,
Lois
