Now for beaches on Kauai......what do you want/like to do?

Good to hear from you. There are only a handful of MINIs on Kauai. I asked my Kauai contact for some advice.
Quote:
The west side of the island has 10-15 miles of secluded white sand beaches from Kekaha to Polihale Beach Park. If his jeep is still 4wd (the rental companies usually make them 2wd so tourists can't use them on the beaches) and he is feeling lucky... (the sand is very soft and depending on tire selection, he still may get stuck w/ 4wd) I'd say go for it.
There are also many jeep trails in the mountains of Kokee if he is interested in exploring pristine rain forests. As long as there hasn't been *lots* of rain recently, he should be okay on those back roads with the jeep. Again, 4wd would help a lot, but not necessary for the majority of roads back there.
A couple of secluded beaches on the north side of the island, but with the advent of the Internet and people selling secrets of the local spots in books, they are quite crowded with tourists with many a pissed off local due to the tourists "stealing" their secret spots. Be careful and aware of where you tread. Not trying to scare anyone... just trying to keep it real.

Many thanks to kkim for his advice. And he's a former MC owner too!!!
Wet Okole seat covers are sold in Hawaii and popular with those that do water sports.

--Hey there Drsms22! I'd suggest a couple of things if you want to scout out the island of Kauai. The first is check out a helicopter tour as 75% of the island is not accessible by road and or is privately owned. The other is to check out ATV tours because they will take you to the hidden hawaii. As in onto private ranchs or parks where you'll get into private waterfall ponds and really secluded forest areas. Here are some links:

The helicopter tour is aces because they actually film your whole tour and record your conversations and the copter pilots are great tour guides. Many of them have flown Steven Spielberg and many other movie stars around and while filming their movies on Kauai and can tell you where certain movies were shot. They will actually fly you right up to some of the tops of waterfalls which are hundreds of feet tall. They sell you the DVD of your flight at the end of the tour.
The ATV rides are a blast but you have to be willing to ride a little rough and be ready to get splashed with mud and dirt. My friend went there on his Honeymoon and he and his wife loved it. Some ATV tours will actually tell you to put your clothes in a locker and put on their riding gear as some tours get so muddy that the stains never get off. So don't wear anything you wouldn't wipe motor oil on that day. Oh and lock up the jewelry at the hotel. It is REAL off roading.
Have fun,
