The last time the Thunderchickens were here was in '97, and they flew off of Waikiki as well. Not sure why they don't ask the Marine Corps to fly from MCB Kaneohe. They are doing it this year at MCAS Miramar... would be a much better show I think.

I found out that yesterday's flight was a practice run. That makes sense... just getting timing and stuff down. Saturday is the one "real" show that I know of.

When the Blues come next month they'll fly practice on Wednesday / Thursday and then a "military appreciation day" on Friday followed by shows on Saturday and Sunday. Lookin' forward to that one also!

They got a lot of practice with their low pass timing yesterday. I do hope they put on a better show on Saturday.

 

Good to see everyone at the CG5 and even a cabrio that happened to be there.

A bit wet at times but pretty good.

8 MINIs and one classic mini. + the cabrio + Grimey in his Acura.

 

At the end of the day we had another new MCS owner (just bought an 05) stopped by. Said he saw the post on the HMMC Forum.

We got rained on a little but ended-up clearing out. Nice little turnout - great seeing everyone again.

That is awesome Latka! I unfortunately avoided waiks, but then ended up getting stuck from after show traffic anyway. I love the thundering sounds of those planes. Blue Angels will be a good show also, can't wait

If you miss this one, the next one is scheduled to rotate to the Kaneohe area. Currently our rotation schedule is Airport > Kapolei > Kaneohe > Hawaii Kai. This is our sixth Coffee Gathering.

 

It's a bit rainy all night but I'm about to head out to the Kapolei Starbucks for the Coffee Gathering 6.

We'll be there for a few hours hopefully Kapolei is fairly dry.
