Cool!

Those are MINI Challenge spec, made by AP I think?

Serious envy for the JCM brakes.

Some of them made it Stateside as Grassroots Motorsports had a R53 club racer they were fitted with.

So is the reason they are lighter in weight because they're aluminum like on my car? I know the GP3 brakes are steel.

Am I correct in thinking that the gp3 callipers use the same pad as the jcw setup ?

they look really small compared to the Gp2 pad

My 2019 MINI JCW International Orange Edition has aluminum JCW front brake calipers. My 2021 MINI GP3 #999 has steel JCW front brake calipers.

I read somewhere that the GP uses steel caliper assemblies as the BMW engineers found they were able to withstand the heat of track use better.

However, both cars use the the same OEM Front Brake pads. BMW/MINI Part # 34 10 6 889 266

I bought a set of the Brembo brand P06097N replacement pads that are supposed to be direct replacements. I don't like the 'look' of them.

The Brembo replacement pads are supposedly carbon ceramic. But they do not look or feel as abrasive as the OEM pads. Has anyone tried these Brembo Front pads on the track?

The GP3 Brake is current assembly line standard on several BMW models and its weight part of the torque steer fun.

Might be different codes or product in Europe?
see links below to UK/Europe brembo although I have my doubts about one of the drawing illustrations.

Interesting... Quite similar caliper design to mine installed nearing 16 yrs ago.
Probably updated version with more swept area but seems more alike than not.
