Just took possession this morning - I am the 4th (and last!) owner - this beauty only had 16,000 miles on her. Waiting for production number. (By the way - she was originally purchased by a dealer in Vermont, whose home base was in California, who then sold to someone in Seattle and was then purchased by the man I bought her from - he and I both in Minnesota).

Welcome to our new owners. I’ve updated the registry, think I got everyone.

BMW just got back to me with “6708183” - I’ve asked her to double-check, because … well, obviously.

And this is what I just received from the Facebook folks -

"Congratulations on your new-to-you JCW GP2, J! We hope you understand that we cannot provide you with the production number."

Any ideas now how I can get my production number? Will it be through my MINI dealer?

TIA.

And here is Facebook Mini’s second response:

Hi J - A production number is how a vehicle is identified prior to having a VIN assigned. We can confirm your JCW GP2 was #11 of the limited production run.

Need some experienced eyes for the back side of this GP2

The trunk doesn't look like it's aligned, GP logo is off center as well, maybe the trunk is replaced?

The diffuser doesn't seem to fit perfectly as well, maybe the whole back end was disassembled and put back incorrectly? A rear end should definitely pop up in Carfax which it didn't.

Can’t really see what’s wrong with the diffuser but both the GP badge and the JCW badge seems to be tilted.

There is a gap between outer diffuser and inner diffuser, not very even, as well as the rear hatch, you can see the left gap and right gap is a bit uneven, especially on the chrome metal part above the rear lights

It’s possible it was in a rear-ended and just thrown back together. Not all repairs show up on a carfax report.

Is it possible to get these parts realigned? I am getting the car shipped to me as we speak. Want to do a total refurbish to like-new condition. If there are any good mechanics in NYC area, please recommend them as well. Love this car.

Thats my guess also, they might have not turned it into insurance and just fixed it.

Follow up on the imperfections I noticed before, I have comprehensively checked a lot of GP2s on BAT and elsewhere. seems like for all GP2s, left and right gap of the rear hatch chrome bar are all inconsistent in gap size. So are diffusers, seems very common to be imperfect on these plastic parts. The owner also showed a GP logo replacement from mini dealer, as well as original vin number behind the rear license plate. So I guess either it's just a shitty mechanic from Mini who decided to tilt the GP logo, or every Mini GP2 has been rear-ended and fixed on their own.

They might have just debagged it at one time. Then put back wrong.

#151 now in Plainfield Ill

I am fortunate enough to have a few iconic sports cars. This GP is a ball to drive. Just replaced tires and aligned it. Can’t wait to get it to the track. It is now sporting 15k miles.

I see that US GP 0293 is not on the registry. I have owned US GP 0293 since January of 2020. Bought it secondhand from the original owner with 25,000 miles on it. I've wanted this car since the day I first laid eyes on it, feel free to add me to the registry. I am unsure what my actual production number out of 2000 is.

Here's some pictures of US GP 0293

Where did you pick up the BBS LM’s? Love them!

Sorry for the late reply, never got a notification about the thread.

I ordered them brand new from Vivid Racing / BBS North America. They took about six months to arrive from Japan. COVID-19 delays did me dirty, but they were well worth the wait.

Thank you for having the GP2 registry and updating it

customer.services@mini.com will not provide production # & Facebook GP owners club has yet to approve my request to join after approximately a month. I would say both have gone stale and are no longer ways to get production #. My last of the VIN DT722342.

New owner here ...
Previous: 0396 - kk moto (AZ) Prod # 1552
Updated: 0396 - GP396 (TX) Prod # 1552

The car has had an interesting journey since kk sold it a year ago, so when I get some time I will make a proper introduction thread about how it got to where it is now.
