Boost Gauge for GP

I was wondering if anyone has bought any gauges for there GP.
Does anyone know how much boost the GP puts out.

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but I want to know also. Mine has a boost gauge and I didn't notice until yesterday that it pegs at 15psi quite often in the higher revs. I guess I've been babying her around because I though max boost was only 13psi.

A couple weeks ago I checked the peak and it was 18 psi which did not seem possible. I reset the gauge and just checked it again and the peak was 13 psi during the last week of driving (and a week at the dealership). 15 psi should be about right for the GP. I am going to push my car hard a few times in the next couple of days to make sure I can get above 13 psi otherwise I will suspect a leak, belt slipping, or who knows what the dealership did.

Checked my boost peak a few times this last week and it is 13 PSI. I think that is about what is expected for a JCW pulley.

I checked mine again yesterday and I get between 10-13 PSI until right around 5k rpm where it goes right to 15psi. My gauge goes up to 15.4psi and it pegs right at 15. The exhaust sounds soo wicked at full boost it's addicting!

Does my car have a different pulley or are you not getting full boost quikmni?

I think I am getting full boost. I get about 13 psi at redline. I previously thought my max boost was higher but based on my search of posts for JCW boost psi it seems that 13 psi is about correct for the 12% JCW pulley. I could be remembering the higher boost from my previous Mini with a 15% pulley and the same boost gauge. Maybe I did not reset the peak boost when I moved the gauge for one car to another.

I can not think of any reason the GP would have higher peak boost than any JCW Mini.

I am not actually sure have the boost gauge transducer works but I suspect that elevation can create a variance in boost psi readings.

Anyone else have peak boost readings from their GP or JCW car?

I replaced the belt this weekend because I thought it might be slipping a little at high RPMs after 49,000 miles of use. The belt must have been slipping. I am not getting 14 -14.5 psi on my boost gauge instead of 13 psi by redline (7200 RPM).

I am still not possitive that my Bypass Valve (BPV) isn't leaking a little.

That's good news! Did you ever get around to cleaning the air filter? I can stop worrying about overboosting if you then get 15.1psi at redline too.

I checked the air filter and it was not too bad so I left it alone. I will try to make time this weekend to clean and re-oil the filter to see if it makes any difference.

Interesting, I am only seeing about 10PSI on my GP? Only 15k miles...It has the factory "CooperS" boost gauge and volt meter.

I will check tomorrow around redline to see if it is stuck at only 10PSI...

Checked it again today, hitting 14.5psi! It's not easy watching that little gauge as the tires are struggling for grip!
