GP Clear bra?

What have you guys done to Clear-bra your GeePees?

What brand do you use? Who did you get to do the job? How much was it, how long did it take, Where did you get it from, etc?

If anyone could give me some info that would be great!

newbs49 did you get a full bonnet cover ?

Has anyone done the FULL cover for the GP? I am talking with my local installer and he has problems in finding the kit. A local (NAM) vendor is asking $400.00 just for the bonnet.

GyPsy needs a bra ASAP

No I didn't get the full cover but he did have it. It's the same as a regular S unless you don't want th hood decal covered which I did. Give Brian an email. He had 2 or 3 suppliers.

Larry
Did you get a new rear bumper cover for the damaged one in NJ?

My guy uses VentureTape. It looks like it's actually painted on the car and tops anything else out there; including 3M. I did mine from about 8 inches above the headlights all the way down the bumper including over the headlights. There was not 'kit'. It was a custom cut job and LOOKS GREAT. I had him do my 2003 MC (3M) and it was good but I like VentureTape MUCH better. Total price was $525. I feel there is no need to go any higher up the hood. On my 2003 after 24k miles I had no rock areas above my clear bra line.

I had full front Clear bra done.. The installer had to custom do the bumper. Did a great job .

Today, I had my regular bra from my 04 S modifed at a auto upholstery shop to fit the GP..came out great

Some people do not like the bra's. I personally swear by them. But, I only use it on long drives/trips. I have used them on my first 2 Minis over 4 years, and have never had a issue. Now, the key to that is. 1. getting what you pay for. By a good quality bra. They are not all created equal. I got mine at Moss Mini. ( actually both, one for my first cooper, then my S ). 2. Get it on right.( the first couple time used, they will begin to soften and streach a little ). keep working it untill you get in on nice and snug. the after about 1hr of driving, ( motoring ) check it, and snugg up as needed. Also, check for debrit if you know you got dirt and stuff kicked up at ya 3. Proper care. The most important. After use, carefully take off, ( some particals may have gotten under ) take off slowly not dragging it accross the paint. Then I vaccuum it off real good ( the cotton underside ) and a cleaner/protector on the exposed side, and store in a box.
