^^^ Um, me-thinks the 2002 R53 in Electric Blue sold on BaT this afternoon needs its own new topic.

I'd rather keep that one under the radar. Sometimes overpaying for a known quantity isn't a bad thing. 😉

I'm also curious to see where this ends up.

@Soul Coughing , Thanks! Looking forward to getting it back on the track, where those brakes earn their keep, especially at Watkins Glen...

Agreed, lots of action towards end of auction - including a couple of dealers bidding. Nonetheless, online CPI Inflation Calculator tools suggest even $33k doesn't go nearly as far as just a few years ago.

Yes, but for a nearly 20 year old car, it held its value pretty well. This probably specced out for somewhere in the mid 40s when purchased, I would guess.

My reference point is the famous GP "bubble car" with just 14 miles that sold on BaT for $36k in 2018. That listing showed 2006 MSRP at $31.2k which per this inflation calculator is equivalent to nearly $48k now.

Ah, the bubble boy GP brings back memories of the bubbly boy episode on Seinfeld many years ago.
