New GP #0352 Owner

Hi All,

Just bought #352 from a dealer in California with 1,015 miles. Its bone stock however it was missing a few items from the previous owner. I'd really like to find that person and see about getting some of the items back. I've done a search on MINI2 and it shows the owner as "gort" however I have seen some posts of his and he has a different numbered GP. I noticed I have a different steering wheel then anything I've seen in any pictures and I'm wondering if there was a difference from what the pictures show in the MINIUSA publications. The wheel I have is black leather and larger in diameter then the stock wheel. I don't think it's a JCW all leather wheel because it has no seams sewn into it where your hand rests at 3 and 9. It has a nicely sewn silver thread on the inside portion of the wheel were one would naturaly sew a cover onto a wheel. I'll post a picture later.

Any help in finding the previous owner would be great. I believe the car was in the San Fransico Bay Area

I'm sure MINI could track down the original buyer through records if it is legal to give away such info, I'm not sure it is, however if they removed items from the car I don't see why they wouldn't if they can.

Pop some photos in your post here.....may help to ID stuff you have questions on

According to what I found so far, a guy by the name of "Mark" was last GP registered owner from Las Vegas, NV.....per GPMINI.

Congrats Mark, I've had two GP's currently GP 1118 and love em. Get some pics up and I'm sure someone can give you some info on the wheel. What other items are you missing manual, pubs etc. ?

Mark, Is the steering wheel the same as what was in Chris' prior GP? Not sure if you really remember what the wheel in there was like.

Congratulations on the new purchase. That is quite a find with such low miles. Your gonna love it!
If you are interested I have the original wheel from my GP, used only 200 miles, which you could have for $100 plus shipping.

Quick; congrats on the GP. It is one hell of a car!!

Do you mind letting us know how much as we all try to keep current on the market price of our unique investment!

My rule of thumb in the GP. For any off ramp speed you can add 40mph and easily stay between the lines and still not spill your coffee!!!

40 mpg...wow didn't think GPs were that fuel effcient . And what does cornering have to do with your gas mileage? Just kidding you and having fun.

40mpg may be possible but you would have to KEEP it under 30mph....which is IMPOSSIBLE in a GP!!

steering wheel

Guys I paid 31K for the car. Attached are the pictures of the whhel, Im thinking that the previous owner had is installed over the orginal wheel. It's a nice job and it's the right thickness. I have also noticed that the P.O. installed a full bank of switches and added the rear fog light.

steering wheel

Missing in the car was the tool kit however I do have a ultima battery, jack kit and the one and ONLY dash plaque with the car # on it. The other things I can replace but not the dash plaque. Im really trying to hunt down the owner(s) and get that back.....

The only tool kit is the factory tow eye which was kept next to the battery in the well, as far as jack kit the GP came with 4 blocks to extend the jack points. These were in a cloth bag. There was/is no jack or lug wrench due to the runflats. I agree it appears the orig steering wheel was covered but it does look good. The dash emblem will be very hard to replace I have heard of a few GP owners try to get a new one for their leather or CF dashes but to no avail.
