I (seriously) mourn the loss of your GP. That must've been like looking at a murdered loved one at the Coroner's office.
I can't imaging how crappy that must feel.
I'm sorry.
+1 Soooooo Sorry to hear!! I would still be crying! Are you going to look for another GP? If so please let us know! Maybe we can all help find you another ride.
I feel your pain. That's beyond criminal to destroy a collector item. It's numbered, didn't they realize that makes it even more special. That's like burning a Jackson Pollack.
I am sorry to hear your bad news, and so close to the holidays. Well, I guess if it works out quick enough you could buy yourself a great Christmas present(or what ever holiday you practice). Hope everything works out for you. I am truely sorry to hear about all of this.
David, that SUCKS!!! Keep the faith brother. At least there are others available out there. Hopefully your insurance company will do you right. Keep us posted!
I really am sorry to hear that. But my thinking is that you shouldn't have to LOCK up YOUR OWN STUFF inside YOUR OWN HOUSE!!. That pisses me off.. Why would anyone do that... I really am sorry you had to deal with jackasses that dont respect other stuff. Again I am sad for your loss. I know people in my neighborhood that isn't a bad neighborhood (well soon to be bad) but there double dead bolting and welding bars across there basement windows and getting alarms because people are breaking into houses... AHHHHHH people just need to respect others stuff... You shouldn't have to worry about your own possessions being stolen in your own house.
At least no one was hurt (physically)
emotionally I think were all hurt after hearing this..
Sorry about your loss

Hey just wanted to give everyone an update. My insurance is offering me $29,300 which I have not settled on anything as of yet. I looked on KBB and to replace the car with an 06 cooper s w/JCW would cost about $ 33,265. I wanted to know what everyone thought, should I try and get what it would cost to replace the GP with another car that is as close as you can buy with a S JCW or go with the $29.300. I don't know what kind of tactics my insurance company my try and throw at me so any help here would really be appreciated. Thanks David
Did they give you a break down of how they came up with that final figure at all? For such a limited edition vehicle that could not be reordered to be replaced I would think they would/should/could/need to consider that as well in figuring the replacement cost. Maybe I am off bases on that but just my 2 cents.

My brother who's in the insurance biz told me about a client who owns a Mugen Honda Civic Si sedan.
It's basically a regular Si sedan with some fancy aero bits and rims that costs $30,000~. I believe only 500 will be sold in the U.S. Anyways, my brother said the owner had the car insured as a classic car.
At first I thought that was kinda dumb since a car like that would appreciate in value way, way, way ,way down the road and that's if it will appreciate in value in the first place.
But now after hearing about that poor GP, that might sound like good idea after all. I'm sure you'll have to make some kinda arrangement with the carrier and set a agreed value. Sure you'll pay more in premium but I'm sure a lot of GP owners will have the peace of mind.
