"GiusePpe" Is finally home! "Howard" has a playmate!
JCW DRiver: Sorry! It is my sons Power Wheels Cadillac Escalade. I had the real truck all blinged out about 18 months ago. He loved it, so Santa brought him one for Christmas. Best part for me now, is he is able to "drift" it in the front driveway. (I need to post a video! It truly makes Dad SOOOOOO proud! Scares the be jesus out of my wife!)
Thanks again!

I saw on one of the threads you camera pooped out, did you get a new one? If so, perhaps some good pictures of your 'GiusePpe' along side of 'Howard' so we can all drool over your mods?

You done anything to the GP or keeping it sane for now?

You really should get the acreage for a big barn for all those neat cars. Btw, which MINI sits in the driveway?
Good ideas all! Camera is cooking. So hopefully this weekend a bunch of things will happen.
GP List for the weekend:
H&R RSS Coilovers
ALTA 22mm Rear Bar
ALTA NEW NEW NEW Gauge Pod Assembly
ALTA Short Shifter
JCW R56 style shift indicator (If I can make it work!-)
None of the MINI's sit outside. That would be RUDE right? One sits in our showroom, when I am not driving it. Right now the GP is in the showroom.
Thanks again!

Pics for sure. Wife surprised me with a painting project when I got home, but assuming I can get that busted out, I should still be able to get everything else done.
Plus I can just drink the beer while I am working. I heard the results turn out that much better!
Thanks guys!

UPDATE: good news and bad news.
Bad news is that I am now 100% in agreeance that you should NOT attempt to jackstand a GP at home. (Or maybe I am a woosie. Who knows.) But with all the unique aerodynamic bits on the car, the factory has effectively blocked access to every good jack point. I didn't feel like risking damage to the car, so I stopped trying. So the bad news is, no sway, coilovers, or short shifter. (I will use the hoist at work this week, or early next when my wheels arrive and do it all at once.) Sorry guys for the delay.
Good News: The new gauge pod is a really nice compliment to the interior of the GP as well as the regular R53's. The gauges are amber backlit at night (including the needle) and white during the day. They are fully electronic, so no need for oil, water, boost etc. to traverse the firewall. Just two sets of very small wiring. I did boost and EGT on my GP, but I will also add the oil temp in a separate location soon. Expect to see photos etc. very soon. Whole package with illustrated instructions, wiring diagrams, sensor hook ups etc. all included and less than $300 for the complete set. The gauges also have memory, peak, hold and warning functions. All for a fraction of the price. I know the R53 groups will love this!
More good news: I was able to modify the R56 JCW Shift Indicator to work with any R53 model (in this case the GP). I am finishing up the instructions and photos right now and should publish in a day or two. SOOOOO much better than having to drill into the dahs board etc. Plus they are far better located at the front of the tach vs. the top of the dash. Also, vs the R53 version that the lamps only go one direction, these go side to side for even more visual impact. I know you guys will love it.
Sorry for the delay, and sorry for not getting more done. Please trust I am cooking on it!

Very cool Adam. I really want to know about the shift lights. They would be great for the track. Also want to see those new gauges and pod. Keep up the great work. I want those shift lights.

newbs49: e-mail me at adam@altaminiperformance.com I will send you a few snaps tomorrow if you wish of the shift lights. If you choose to order one I can include the instructions in the kit. Literally took 45 minutes start to finish, and that was with probing addl. wiring that you will not have to do. Thanks again!
The answer is yes and no! Yes they are progressing. No, not fast enough. But, my dyno gets delivered tomorrow (fingers crossed) and then I can do all the baseline runs, then direct comparisions for the intake, header, exhaust etc. to help show both GP owners and JCW owners how much MORE HP they can gain with the ALTA parts added. Finally, the gauges are HOTT!!! in the car. They go on the web any moment now and look SAWEET in the GP.
Thanks again for asking for the update.
More importantly how are things with YOUR car ;-)

Figure wheels and tires for winter, cat-back, guage pod and eventually a CAI. Suspension staying stock for now.
Pictures of the mods when you get some moments and dyno results are always good for comparison.
Thanks...
