Sorry, couldn't resist... I'm curious to see what reactions the thread title creates.

2 years, 1 month, 10 days and counting...

(far less than many of you I'm sure... but I still think it's awesome that we can still be just as enthusiastic as that first day...)

 

Yeah, I was gonna say, "what do you mean, wears off??"

3 years 1 week and still grinning!

 

1 year this month! Loving every mile. The novelty never wears off...exspecially when there's so many mods to do!

 

Me, too. It's amazing how I keep finding new ways to appreciate this car...even after more than four years.

 

Nevah!!

 

I hope it never wears off. I'm 73 and when I get behind the wheel and drive I'm 25 again!!!

I bought my first MINI (an MC) in early '03 and recently my '06 JCW MCS had to have a small ding fixed. I drove a rental for 5 days, and it was never more obvious: I had absolutely nothing to look forward to when it came time to drive somewhere. It felt like a chore to drive anywhere. In contrast, I enjoy getting into my MINI every single time I open the door and slide behind the wheel- it doesn't matter if it's for a short errand or a long commute. If that's a novelty, I guess that's why they call it motoring, and it will never get old.

 

Almost a year and still loving it.

 

1 month, 26 days, 1 hour, 30 minutes (give or take a few minutes) and I cant imagine having this much fun driving anything else!

 

Had my '05 MCS for about 2.5 years now, have considered selling it for something else (Honda S2000 keeps popping up in my mind) but I just can't seem to let go of it. It's just to cool of a car.

 

May 2002 - Present. Two MINI's and still obsessed. The only thing I've been obsessed with longer is my wife of 19 years.

 

If the novelty even begins to slightly show signs of wearing off, it's...

July 2002 - Present. Two MINIs, same feeling. I've only been married 7 years. My 15 year old daughter marvels that the lovey dovey hasn't worn off yet as her mother predicted it would.

PS....a used Lotus isn't much more than a new JCW MINI.

 

Detroit Tuned just installed a 15% pulley on my '05 after 28 months of ownership and 70K miles. It's like a whole new car again!

 

Meh, you can have them...I'll take a MINI any day. And a Cooper, too!!

 

I haven't even got my MINI yet and the novelty is beginning to wear off.

Watch how fast the novelty returns when you get the call from the MA, "Your MINI is ready to be picked up" !

 

I hope so. Right now, I'm not so sure.
