Order Time?

I now have an 06 base MC and I am wanting to order a new MCS in the next year or two. How long does it take to get your MINI after you order it? Also, How does the trade-in process work if you order one? Do you not get a trade in price on yours until your new MINI comes in? Thanks!

Patience is your friend...

I can't help you out on the trade-in question, but Dreyer and Reinbold told me 8 weeks when I ordered mine yesterday. This seems to vary depending on how they are doing with their allocations, so it could be shorter or longer.

The delivery time will vary based on where you live and several factors. I live in NJ and it took almost 8 weeks to get my '06. Your trade will probably be appraised at a value and mileage estimated to coincide with your estimated delivery date.

There are several factors affecting your wait, the primary one is allocation. As MINI presently is producing the cars around the clock, each dealer is given an "allocation," that is a certain number of vehicles they can order within a certain timeframe. So, if your dealer has a current allocation available, your order would go into production. However, if your dealer is awaiting allocation, your vehicle will not go into production until the allocation week your dealer has. In addition, certain options have delayed availability (although this should go away in not too long --- I hope). For example, I ordered my MCS with navagation. But navagation was not available at the time of my order, so my car awaited production until navagation was available. I ordered my car February 23. It was completed March 30 (it actually went into production March 27), and is now awaiting shipment, which takes about 3 weeks to the East Coast.
