The end is near.

More than likely tomorrow at this time the MINI will gone. I have needed, never wanted, to sell it since last August. I simply need a larger car for our trips across the state and other near by states for soccer tournaments my kids play in. We have over 19,000 miles on the 10 month old van and 13,000 on the '05 S. If I could keep 3 cars I would. The Saturn dealer is giving me $20,000 for it and I'll probably lease an Aura XR for 24 months and 15,000 miles for more than $109 per month less than the MINI payment. I have the Aura with me right now so my wife can have a look tonight and make our decision.

I already have a lump in the pit of my stomach thinking about driving away from the MINI.

sell the van and keep the mini... why do you need 2 unfun cars? but on the other hand $20000 for trade in isn't bad.

You know, think of it this way. Yeah, you might have to hand over the keys to the MINI soon, but you can get another sooner than you think! I don't know much about you, but there's always time.

Lets say you kids are around 13/14? 5 years and they're outta the house! Sell that van and get a new MINI!

Why not three cars? Maybe an older practical car will do the trick while you keep the MINI for fun!

Around here when a new driver gets their license, they automatically go on the most expensive policy vehicle unless there are "enough vehicles to go around". We have an old Suburban with 216K miles that insurance-liability only-is something around 200/yr. Having that extra vehicle so we can put our new driver on it saves 400/yr over listing him on his vehicle-a 99 Civic. And MUCH cheaper than on the most expensive vehicle.

So keep an extra car around for...ummm...insurance savings. Yeah that's it...

And having an extra vehicle is convenient when one is down for repairs. Yeah-that's it!

Gee. You could think up lots of reasons you'd HAVE to have too many vehicles!
