Good question. I also thought your folks banned you from the Internet. So much for that punishment

Good luck, Jeremy.

May the court be fair and may your punishment be just. That's about all you can ask for.

Yes, you are. As are the other people who were on the road around you. Don't push your luck!

I don't know about others feelings but IMHO...justice was not served. What's the lesson learned?

I derive this from your original post and color commentary regarding your other tickets.

I'm sure you understand Probation Before Judgment, Jeremy. Even a Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign violation is going to put those Speeding and Driving Right of Center violations on your record and "bingo" you're going to have five points or more on your record. That's enough moving violations for your insurance company to terminate you and maybe enough for you to lose your license.

So... drive like a little old lady for a few years and save yourself a lot of money and heartache !!

At 5 points he gets hauled into to the MVA to explain why his license should not be suspended, Three moving violations at once? You all better be REAL good the next year

Truth is justice is rarely served, even when the outcome appears appropriate, it is usually just coincidence. As to whether justice was served, time will tell. The test is not whether the punishment fit the crime, but did you learn from this. A little introspection can be a good thing. If you look at the events objectively, maybe the cop overreacted, but maybe you played more than a little part in that. New drivers / young drivers tend to over estimate their abilities and underestimate danger. If you are a little more cautious (ok, maybe more than a little) as a result of this, then justice probably has been served.

The system is designed around revenue with the 2nd concern actual safety. If it was the case all the construction/contractors where I live would not be dropping all there loads on i-75. Rocks, traffic cones, coolers, tools. You will get nabbed for speeding easy they make it really easy to do a online school for a nominal fee. I witness every day infractions more dangerous than 10+ MPH speeding infraction happen even right in fron of an officer and he does not bat an eye. a week ago i saw a SUV pull right infront of a squad car during braking for a light withought signal i even saw the officers car pitch its nose from stabbing the brake a little. Simply put its revenue. if safety was the case then it would be much harder to get a licence cause it would require some lacking techniques. That officer was going from point a.) to point b.) since he wasnt in revenue mode that guy wasnt pulled over. They need to get this countries priorities striaght. Bah theres too much buddy buddy catering to the good ol boy network goin on in florida counties. Not all but a good portion. However Hiway patrol seem to be on the right path they pull you over for speed and other stuff i bet its revenue at times but its always been legitamate in my experience with them. Cant complain but will curse when they get in there car :p
