VS, did I miss your post in the door handle thread ? Did you actually finish the installation on those handles ? I got mine in the mail yesterday and would love to know if you were successful in finishing the job.

More checkers coming to my car soon, but in the meantime, I thought I would add some checkers to the home of The Twins. Check out the new checkered garage floor:

Not completely finished, I'm waiting till the weekend. I finally got the handle off but screwing in the new one is just as much of a pain, lol. I got one screw in to secure it in place so it doesn't look completely ghetto, but I'm going to finish it this weekend.

The wire is tricky to reinstall too, but I didn't have much time to work with it (I was trying to do it after work on evening, not enough daylight).

Did you get that tool from Sears to help you get in the nooks and crannies ? If so, does it help ? Or would it be a waste of money and time ?

I'm a desk jockey, not highly mechanically inclined. I'd hate to get half way through the job and THEN decide I should have had a pro install them.

I found a similar one at Advanced Auto Parts, and yeah, without it the installation is impossible I think.

Its not technically hard to install, its just 2 measely screws and a wire that needs to be placed, but with the lack of space it makes it difficult.

Thanks, VS. Sounds like a job a desk jockey can handle.

Just need to get that mini (pun intended) ratchet and the right allen bit.

I'm working on that design now. I should have it available in a couple weeks.

Love the garage floor. Nice touch. BTW did you get your roof graphic on yet? When you do you should take some pics of it in that garage. it would make a great photo for the Gallery.

I found a vendor who will do it, and at a fair price (thanks to Sherill from the DCMM club). But they're having some renovations done at their shop and can't schedule me on a Saturday until next month.

Thanks for the compliment on the garage floor. The pic doesn't even do it justice... I took it at night when I finished the project. I'll take you up on that request for a pic for your gallery... promise !

Happy Motoring !

You know if you are going to the Dragon you can just have be do the install there I still have some time spots open. If you have me do it then you can be sure it will be done right. Plus it gives you an excuss to go to the Dragon

I'd love to go, but I have too many trips already planned over the next four months, Mike. But I already have The Dragon on my calendar for May of '08.

I'm contemplating tackling this one on my own. I think I have enough of my dad's DNA in me to do this job.

As always, thanks for the offer !
