Geez, I've not heard about that one. Maybe they left some packin' peanuts in the engine Let us know what they found. I'm curious!

Hi everyone. New to the group and excited to be part of the MINI world.

MNE MOM, I read your post and could completely sympathize with your situation. I too picked up my new Pepper White MCS on Friday 10/5, but enjoyed a little more time behind the wheel before I my engine light illuminated on Monday 10/8 and experienced the exact problems with the engine bucking and not idling regularly. I picked it up yesterday and was told that the problem was very minor. The oxygen intake sensor had become disconnected and the computer thought that oxygen was not getting in and causing the engine to act the same. Yesterday afternoon and this morning have been great and no recurrence.

If you still don't have your MINI back, ask your service dept to check this if they haven't already. Good luck!

Hey minilab -

I think you deserve an award, or some kind of special recognition. Your post must rank as one of the most constructive initial posts ever made in the history of NAM!

You didn't just stop at a shallow "hi, I'm new, how are ya?" but you consciously and positively contributed to the happiness and well-being of a fellow MINI fanatic. I am impressed. Well done!

Now, as one of the PW bretheren, don't you feel the urge to ask Annette for a number and join the ranks as an already honored member of the Peerage?

We are not worthy! We are not worthy!

...anyway, a warm welcome to the world of NAM and MINI bliss!

Wow, thanks very much mineartg. That was one of the nicest emails ever! Glad to contribute, just don't expect it daily...I can be shallow too

I have seen posts about the numbers, what is the significance?

Hey Minilab & Mineartg,
I finally got my mini back on Wednesday 10/10. So far so good she's running just fine. It was just what you suggested Minilab. The factory forgot to tighten the oxygen sensor therefore causing the car to stall & buck. It seems odd to me that so many of us are experiencing this porblem. I guess the factory guys had one too many pints the day they worked on our cars. I just hope down the road we don't have anymore troubles because of this issue. Thanks again for your concern!
Happy Motoring,
mnemom

Been hanging around here for a month or so now, ordered a nice little PW Cooper - couldn't find the interior I wanted so I just went with sport seats and leatherette - Made the mistake of stopping by the Dealer 4 weeks into my order (Mini was passing through Panama) and saw the interior I was looking for - fell in love - MA - said, Re-Order - So I did - of course still PW but now sporting LL/Black Piano/Cream color line. My wedding aniv is 0711, so may I have that number - Our name for our Mini is a real original {lol{ PEPPER - Well, its the only one on my block with that name - lol

Waaiitt a minute Harley. . . I remember this summer you were saying that you just wanted a basic MINI, you'd gone overboard with your bikes in the past and weren't going to do the same thing with the car. . .

Seriously, congrats on finding the perfect interior. If I didn't have 2 sons I'd have definitely gone for the cream interior. It is gorgeous! Can't wait to see pictures and hear the adventures of "the only Pepper on the block!"

It's funny. I realized that I'd pretty much duplicated the interior of my much-loved Saturn wagon with the MINI, only after starting to drive Scoop around. Realized it looked comfortably familiar!

to your interior choice, it's gonna be a beauty! I got the same on my MINI; can't wait to pick it up tomorrow. Nice to know it's so easy to re-order without taking a financial hit. I had no idea... Figured one would at least lose their deposit since now the first MINI is gonna sit on the lot possibly for awhile.

When I reordered I was scolded, but I'm very happy I did it. The cream line and piano black with LL seats is awesome. Reminds me of a tuxedo.

Well at least it was allowed and you weren't subjected to any type of penalty. It's such a gorgeous and sharp combo, ESPECIALLY with Pepper White.

Welcome all, glad to hear the issues were worked out. My initial (and only) issue was pretty early one as well but i think it's a good omen to get it out of the way .

Ya, Ya, Ya - lol - you are right... what happened was I ended up working a ton of OT here at the fire station - decided to try to change... actually, only ended up costing an extra $1500 - had already ordered the sport seats and had the upgraded to the "brushed alloy" and I dropped the auto A/C... so, I could live with the $1500 - but it was not an easy decission, I really did not want to get carried away,,, My MA was very good about it all...

I wasn't sure I'd like the wood/piano, but I do! Just have to keep a soft rag in the glove box to polish off all the fingerprints it attracts. EVERYONE (myself included if the truth be known) says, "Ooh, how shiny and pretty!" and then they TOUCH it!!!!!

Now if I had a convertible, the PW with Sidewalk package would be nice. . .that leather is sweet!

How long did yours take from order? how much time did it take to get after it was unloaded from the boat?

Checkercoop,

The dealer got the car Monday. It was actually ready yesterday. We just couldn't get there. I'm happy with their turn around, since they did add a couple dealer-installed options in the process (mudflaps & bumper guard).

I've blocked out how many weeks it's been since ordering. I believe that we officially got in line September 8th. So, that's about 5 weeks to the dealer. Not bad, considering I was quoted "up to 8 weeks" for delivery to western Pennsylvania.

Peace !
Spearsy

Then if it still is a 'want' - I will look into it.. sure would like to find a set of the Oak for sale from a fourm member... made a post looking for someone who has changed out the door grab part,,, so far no answers... - Mini will pass throught Panama on the 29th

I would guess that someone who buys a used MINI at some point with Oak will want to carbonize it or something. Maybe just write a Want to Buy post and just keep bumping up to the new post section once a month or so!

Have fun with the canal! There are all sorts of live cams. Tharkun is the tracking through Panama god on NAM--he's retired and has all these computers going. Lots of helpful threads. Our Tagus week 31 thread has lots of links to different live cams. Luckily I was on summer vacation and didn't have to teach. What a disaster THAT would have been!
